Olden Norway
Again on our Norwegian cruise this is just about Olden not the tour.its nested at the southern end of the Nordfjord at the entrance to the Oldendale valley has superb coastline towering mountains and the biggest glacier on mainland Europe, Jostedalsbreen. We took a trip on a coach to the waterfall and rapids,it's expensive for a couple of hours but Norway definitely not a cheap place.make sure you have your credit card as no one seems to deal in cash,I have to say this was the highlight stop on the cruise

Nice Relaxing Bike Ride
Nice easy bike ride from the cruise terminal to the lake with several stops to see the sights along the way. Light snack and water provided. The guide was friendly and informative. Bikes were all in great shape. We enjoyed the tour, the guide, and interacting with the owners on site.

Great experience.
Moderate effort hike up to the lake with great views along the way. The path is well prepared, 1.65 miles up and back with around 550’ of elevation gain.

Wonderful experience!...
Wonderful experience! Anne Marte explained many things to us and took us on a tour of the lake, explaining the various features of the landscape. Since there were only two of us on the tour, the atmosphere became very familiar. Highly recommended for those who want to explore Olden!

Kayaking in Olden
We had an amazing time kayaking across the fjord with Marcus, Nathan, Richard and Melody, really friendly and professional guides who took the time to reassure us how safe we would be. My wife was particularly anxious, as she had a bad experience kayaking when she was younger, but with the guys helping her, she did it and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I would definitely recommend these guys if you find yourself in the lovely town of Olden. Alan Hutchinson

Terrific day
Vlad was an amazing tour guide for our day. He was right on time and the tesla car very comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions. His selection of music made the day go beautifully. He got us to the sights before the big crowds and even took us to a few extra places that had amazing views He let us take our time and never felt rushed I would highly recommend Vlad and his company for this tour

Flaam is an amazing and beautiful area and Vlad was even more amazing!
When out cruise ship docked in Flaam it felt otherworldly. Hard to describe the complete natural beauty of the area. IMO a private tour is always the way to go especially when on a cruise ship where time is precious. Vlad was an absolute great guide in addition to being just a super nice person. We were constantly on the move that day and saw so much. I could not recommend this tour more highly! You need to book with Vlad any chance you get.

Fantastic way to see Norway
Bjorn was our guide. Very nice ppl at Olden Active. Equipment clean and in good state. Guide was excellent and the path was excellent to see Olden. This was a highlight of all our touring.Word of caution, we came to the other e-bike retailer in a tent first as we exited the ship and the woman said our vendor was just a wandering vendor - which wasn’t true. A little further in, there were huge signs for olden active attached to Mollan Restaurant (as map shows). This is clearly a well established business.

Well Worth the Money

Olden 4 Hour Briksdal Glacier Tour in Briksdalsbreen
AndrewGrimsby, Jul 2026
Well Worth the Money
We have now done this excursion twice direct. That is far cheaper than going through the cruise line. All is well organised, the bus picks you up by the ship and delivers you back there after you have walked up to the glacier.A recording on the bus tells you about the scenery as you travel to the glacier, then gives you clear instructions on arrival. The walk itself takes about 45 minutes and is not too strenuous. I have asthma and did it easily. If anything the walk back down is harder on the knees as there are one or two very steep areas. The troll cars would be a waste of money for anyone able bodied. The trip is well worth it. The scenery is awesome and unspoilt and each time we have done this walk we have seen something dffferent.
