A fantastic experience. We love the combination of ease and adventure. Paddling in the fjord in Olden is a magical experience - one of the most beautiful spots to possibly paddle. The ease of being right off the ship and not having to travel anywhere made it super easy. Our guide, Bjornar, was knowledgeable and fun, and the equipment was perfect for all levels. Highly encourage you to do this!!!

Again on our Norwegian cruise this is just about Olden not the tour.its nested at the southern end of the Nordfjord at the entrance to the Oldendale valley has superb coastline towering mountains and the biggest glacier on mainland Europe, Jostedalsbreen. We took a trip on a coach to the waterfall and rapids,it's expensive for a couple of hours but Norway definitely not a cheap place.make sure you have your credit card as no one seems to deal in cash,I have to say this was the highlight stop on the cruise

Nice easy bike ride from the cruise terminal to the lake with several stops to see the sights along the way. Light snack and water provided. The guide was friendly and informative. Bikes were all in great shape. We enjoyed the tour, the guide, and interacting with the owners on site.

This was a beautifully scenic bike ride and the e-bikes made it easy and fun. Jolanna our tour guide was fantastic. She shared tons of interesting local history and culture with us, and she was funny and kind. We would definitely do this again. It was 5 minute walk from the ship dock also, which was handy. There is a very short time during the 2 hours that you have to ride on a busy road, and/or through people walking, so if you aren't an experienced biker, this might be tricky for you. We absolutely loved it.

This experience was recommended to us by our RIB tour operator, Anton. We are so glad he shared this wonderful place with us. The farm is adorable and the food is outstanding.We loved the animals and the swing. The restaurant was quaint and decor was authentic.Antonio, the manager, was a fabulous and full of knowledge.We really enjoyed the tasting experience. (Kids ages 10,13,15). Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful experience! Anne Marte explained many things to us and took us on a tour of the lake, explaining the various features of the landscape. Since there were only two of us on the tour, the atmosphere became very familiar. Highly recommended for those who want to explore Olden!

What a fantastic experience!
A great experience despite the bad weather conditions. Booked with ICETROLL and everything ran excellently. Participants were split up and each group was given its own guide. We got the friendly and accessible Alex from Canada. Alex regularly contacted kayaking and was interested. Did competitions kayaking with our teenage kids. On the glacier it turned out that we went ashore on the right and the rest on the left. A big plus for the organization. This way you don't get in each other's way and everyone has a beautiful view. Alex brought hot chocolate and made a special route on ropes in a glacier crevice, into which we were allowed to descend. He regularly talked about the glacier during the walk on the hard ice. Paddling back is sometimes underrated and is quite a stretch. Alex also took this into account and stayed out of the wind if possible and last breaks. All in all a nice experience that I can recommend to everyone!

An amazing adventure with a great company, this really was an adventure of a lifetime. Our guides Florian and Alvaro were brilliant - friendly, fun, knowledgeable and focussed on safety to make this trip enjoyable from start to finish. The equipment and briefings were all great and the scenery is just stunning. To be able to kayak across a beautiful lake amongst the mountains and then walk across a huge glacier was our family highlight of our trip to Norway.

Our trip to Briksdal Glacier on 18th June 2026 began with a coach trip from the cruise terminal through beautiful valleys and picturesque landscapes on route to Briksdal Inn. Here you either begin the walk to the glacier - approximately 45minutes for capable walkers - or take a scenic buggy ride then a shorter, easier 10 minute walk to the base of the glacier. The glacier has, as expected, receded over time but the surrounding majestic mountains, waterfalls and river are very scenic. Definately do not do the walk if you have any mobility issues. A short stop at a park beside the lake on the journey back gave another picturesque view. Unfortunately back in Olden it was quite cloudy and misty rain so our trip up the cable car didn't deliver the 360 degree views that would be fabulous on a clear day.
