Top Setubal District Horseback Riding

We had a magical sunset horseback ride along the beach and dunes! The horses were lovely and friendly, the scenery was beautiful, and Laura was an amazing guide — great conversation, photos, and a truly relaxing and romantic experience. Highly recommended! ❤️

Amazing sunset ride today, always a lot of fun!

Excellent excursion !! Had a great time !!

João was kind and patient with our group of inexperienced riders (including a child) and took care to select the appropriate horses and provide proper instruction before our journey through the fields began. A memorable experience, thanks João!

The riding instructor João took us out for a one hour private ride around the grounds on one of the first dry days in Evora after a month of torrential rain. Although the footing was wet in some areas the horses were ‘steady athletes . We had a beautiful ride through fields of wild daisies and grape vines. ’João has extensive knowledge in hunter jumpers equitation and dressage and fitted us in very nice dressage saddles. After the trail ride he brought us in the ring and let us do some trottingThe horses were calm athletic and responsive

Fantastic experience!! We were in complete fog but still had such a great time. Our guide was so friendly and wonderful!! Definitely recommend.

5 stars ++ To say it was an Incredible experience, is an understatement. The ride was only for my Wife and I with our knowledgeable guide. Meeting up prior to heading to the horses was convenient and communication was great. Antonio (Chuck Norris) , our guide was entertaining and so much fun, both on the trails and at lunch! Speaking of lunch, WOW. The break takes place at a nicely setup farm/ vineyard where they harvest make some amazing wine, available on site. Of course we had our fair share while joking around with Antonio and enjoying an assortment of cheese and meat. Views are incredible and so much better appreciated on horseback. This was a special experience that l'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable day. If we are in the area on a future trip, we'd do it again!!

The trip was worth every penny.Everyone involved from the staff side was super friendly and kind throughout the day. The horses were super kind and easy to work with too (I probably could have slept in the saddle the entire time and there would not have been any issues). Our guide was charming and it didn't bother at all that we didn't have a common language. The landscape was phenomenal, and as the icing on the cake we got to taste local cheese and wine too. They even picked us up car on the morning and gave us a ride back to our desired location in Lisbon to end the day. Can't recommend enough!

Our daughters had the most incredible experience riding with LITS Horses. Having both owned ponies, they were hoping for something special, and this exceeded all expectations. The horses were beautifully cared for, responsive and a pleasure to ride, not your typical riding school horses. The beach ride was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning scenery and a relaxed, professional and friendly atmosphere throughout. It was the highlight of our daughter’s birthday and a memory our girls will treasure for years to come. We can’t recommend LITS Horses highly enough and would definitely book again when we’re back in Portugal. Thank you for such a fantastic experience!

A unique experience, and the initiative to rescue and give the horses a new life is to be applauded. The ride was very calm and the horses very docile. The only drawback I can mention is that we didn't stop to take a photo with the sunset in the background, even so, I recommend the experience 100%.

We had a lovely ride through the countryside and vineyards . True horseman, who matched us up perfectly to the right horse. We are experienced riders but he has horses for the non riders that are calm and relaxed. Great ride. Lovely conversation . Highly recommend

My daughter and I enjoyed a spectacular 2 hour ride on the beach with Antonio. The setting with the cliffs and waves was breathtaking, the horses were energetic and well trained, and we enjoyed many opportunities to trot and canter along the beach. Carlos kept in great communication with us and went out of his way to pick us up at our hotel outside Lisbon. We like to ride on vacation and this was absolutely at the top of our experiences anywhere in the world. It exceeded all of our expectations - I very highly recommend this tour.

Great experience! The horses were beautiful and responsive. The trail was lovely with great riding opportunities. Lunch at the winery was a wonderful experience. And the entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Lovely project offering home to rescued horses and train them for hacking on the beach. Terrain is varied and you’ve got time to fully take in the nature and the sounds of the sea. I’ll probably do this every year from now on. Special thanks to Tiago who took time to tell stories about how his horses found their way to him and also for good instruction of how is best to ride them - gentle approach using body rather than reins.

You realise that you're in a different kind of place when the horse you are going to ride picks you - not the other way around. I was delighted to have been picked by Copper; and when you notice that your guide (Tiago) is riding bridle-less, just with a neck rope, taking five guests to the beach across the dunes - you double take again! We had the best time, I have never seen rescue horses trust their leader (and riders) to this degree, and it was fascinating to hear their stories. I loved the way the team connect with the horses; and what a priviledge to meet little "Xisto" at barely two weeks old! Congratulations!

We had a fantastic time! Veronica was incredibly welcoming, and the horses were so gentle. Learning the history behind the place added a special layer of meaning that made the whole visit even better.
