Great introduction to the town on our cruise stop.
We learnt a lot about Albania’s history on our one short cruise ship stop at the Port of Saranade. Ermal met us near the port area, and we travelled by car to the monastery of the forty saints. It was on top of a hill overlooking Saranade and provided spectacular views of the city and as far as the island of Corfu, Greece. Alongside the monastery was a series of bunkers and tunnels that had been built as defensive positions and areas of refuge if the country was attacked. We learnt the communist leaders of the day had isolated Albania and believing the country would be attacked by its neighbours. Then we walked downhill to a local mosque and were told of the re-emergence of religion after the fall of the communist government. State Atheism laws were passed in the 1960’s to ban religion including all icons. We thoroughly recommend this tour.

Amazing tour!! Highly recommend.
I can’t say enough positive things about Gert and this experience. First I would like to mention how great his communication was. I messaged him right when I booked and had a few questions and he always took the time to answer me quickly. Second, he was incredibly kind and hospitable and I felt like I was with a life long friend. Third, he is extremely knowledgeable and makes the history so interesting. He answered all my questions, we chatted the entire way, listened to music and had a great time. Highly highly recommend taking a day and doing this tour!!! I wouldn’t have had such a memorable experience with anyone else. Thank you so much Gerti!

Great tour! We saw bits of the monastery and the bunkers that we would not have seen had we visited by ourselves. And the views over Saranda and the surrounding mountains were beautiful. It was interesting to hear about the communist period from the guide's personal family perspective.

They explained everything clearly and kept the atmosphere fun and relaxed. The rafting itself was exciting but not too extreme, making it perfect for beginners and families as well.We also had time to stop, swim, take photos, and really enjoy the surroundings. It was not just an adrenaline activity, but also a peaceful way to connect with nature.

We had an amazing tour to the Blue Eye and Gjirokaster, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The natural beauty of the Blue Eye was breathtaking, and Gjirokaster’s rich history and architecture were fascinating to explore. A special thank you to our guide Fatjon (Tony), who was outstanding throughout the day. His deep knowledge, friendly approach, and excellent organisation made everything smooth and enjoyable. The local food we had was absolutely delicious—authentic, fresh, and full of flavour. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the best of southern Albania with a top-notch guide!

This tour was definitely breathtaking experience. I don't use these words often, but they definitely belong to this description.We got to se the beautiful lake, were taught a lot about mussels (even got some hands on experience) and then we ate a lot of fresh mussels prepared in different ways (and we got to drink a lot of wine too).Linda as tour guide was just amazing. She was knowledgable and fun. She was also able to move the tour for us to the later hours as we couldn't go earlier. Thanks to that we were able to watch the sunset on the boat on the ride back.I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone. It was worth every penny.Thank you Linda!

The most friendly guide and the perfect tour alla Albania!
We travelled more three weeks across Albania with a caravan and decided to try this private trip, as we wanted to spare us the parking stress. Well we received the most of these sites i believe ! We had a private tour, our guide was young, speaking fluently english, studied. He could answer us all the questions we've gathered through our travels. He gave us great historical description as well as natural description from the places we've visited. We could plan and adjust the trip, we even drove slowlier so we could enjoy the picturesque scenery ( the whole trip is really nice! ) our driver brought us safe to all places and we stepped of the car right before entrances. We even had some water and snacks on the board. Our guide was really helpful, nice, friendly and funny ! We had a funny time, just the thee of us, felt verry familiar ! We can only recommend this tour if you want to travel without worries, comfortly, ask and learn about the coutry and the history of them. Thank you very much for this unusual experience.
