A lovely tour with the Reindeers
A well organised and professionally conducted tour by the family. An efficient and timely pickup followed by a short introduction to the reindeers with some dos and don'ts. Then a 45 minutes mediative ride through the beautiful snowy forests. We could have sat for another half an hour comfortably. Post the ride we were served hot chocolate and cakes and a question and answer session on life on the farm. A really wonderful experience.

A lovely and meditative experience
The tour started with a timely pickup and a short drive to the family farm. We were given warm clothing and introduced to the reindeers and allocated one each with a sledge. It was a lovely 40 odd minute ride through the forest with fascinating views in the snow. A quiet and meditative ride. On returning to the farm we fed the deer that had pulled us and then went in for some hot chocolate and cake... very yummy and welcome. A short question and answer session with the owner's daughter and then back for the return trip. A very well organised and professional set-up. Would highly recommend.

Worth the price, Wonderful experience
Our guide Tome was amazing! He was timely, welcoming, and most importantly ensured that everyone was cared for and safe. He gave very clear instructions about how to operate the vehicle and safety instructions. We went at night during a snow storm - it was quite the experience even though we didnt see the lights. The ride also seemed very long! Very worth it. I am so glad we booked this last minute as it created wonderful memories for our time in Finland.

We enjoyed the Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Spring tour and also we were very happy to see Aurora on our last night. The two guides took various photos in the cold and we had a lot to talk about. We ended up seeing the Aurora Borealis and starry skies, which were so lovely as we set fire to the lake!

Great experience! Marja and Jyrkki were lovely and wonderful guides. From pickup to dropoff everything was very smooth. The ice fishing itself was very fun. If we felt we wanted to move to another location on the lake, they drilled a hole elsewhere to see if there was better chance. We caught two fish that they grilled up for us on a fire alongside other food that was brought such as sausage. 10/10 experience would definitely advise people to check this out.

Although we didn't catch any fish as expected, the whole trip was very fulfilling and fun. The tour guide and driver was very professional and responsible, and the food was delicious. It is recommended that you wear warm insoles when changing into the snowshoes provided by the tour guide. The temperature on the ice lake was extremely low. Even after wearing three layers of socks, my feet were still freezing.

My husband and I had the best day trying ice fishing. The day was well paced, not rushed. Arto taught us what we needed to know and let us go ahead with it. Lunch in the teepee was a lovely experience. The sled ride was mesmerising. Highly recommend - thanks Ivalo Safaris. Above and beyond.

It was a great experience! To our luck, it was very sunny so the reindeer ride was extra enjoyable. All the family members of the farm and all the rest of the employees were very sweet and helpful. After the ride, the hot chotolate/coffee and cake was just what we needed! And the q&a about the reindeers was very informative. We enjoyed the experience a lot!

Fun experience
Such a fun experience! Our guide, Miko, was amazing and so accommodating. It starts off by getting equipped with warm clothing and equipment, then getting driven to the lake which is like a 20 minute journey. Then you ride on the sleigh on the lake, such a cool yet cold experience (the wind) ! Then the fishing starts! He demonstrates how to make the hole and you take turns trying to make your fishing hole (he ends up making them when we’re all tired). Then he demonstrates how to fish and you spend 30 minutes trying to catch something - seems short but it’s a long time when it’s cold. Then you get transported back to an island where you get to be around a fire and get fed a 3 course meal which was delicious! And then you get to feed the reindeer and get sleighed back to the van and to get changed! Overall, worth the money and such a fun, unique experience! Just wear lots of layers.
