The guide Ramona is very knowledgeable and explains the historical context of the area while en route. I was keen to know more as she makes it interesting. The castle was the highlight for us both, and we learned about the mythology based on actual history now intertwined with the legend of Dracula. Fascinating. Part of the tour includes some hills and steps to climb which are manageable. On the day we went there was a food festival which we were able to visit, though this meant that as a result of the queues of traffic it was not practical to drive to the mountain villages. We experienced a very good tour overall, good value for money and I would definitely recommend. Thank you!

A fun way to see the city and learn about Romania’s myths and legends. Our guide Rares was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour based on the interest of the group. His English was impeccable! We would highly recommend this tour if you want to try something different! We wish we’d stayed in Bucharest long enough to take another of their walking tours!

Awesome tour experience with our guide Claudiu! He is very knowledgeable and friendly who patiently answered all our queries about the places we visited as well as about life in Romania. The Slanic Salt Mine is one of the coolest place literally at 12 deg (Claudiu kindly reminded us to bring warm clothing for that!). The story and history at Snagov Monastery is also shared by our guide Claudiu. Overall a wonderful way to experience Romania! Highly recommended to all!

A good-value self-guided tour. It wasn’t extremely in-depth, and there was some repetition with information I had already heard from a guide, but I really appreciated being able to go at my own pace and stop for photos whenever I wanted. If I missed something, I could replay the audio or read the text instead. The included photos and map were also very useful. Overall, a worthwhile $7.50 and a nice way to explore Bucharest independently.

A good day in Transylvania
It was a terrific day. Traffic was intense getting out of Bucharest in the morning but Lucian, our driver and guide, made the time fly by with his stories. Peles Castle was well worth a visit. We only saw the outside because it is closed on Monday and Tuesday but still very impressive. Brasov is a lovely town where we enjoyed a traditional Hungarian lunch seated outside in the square. Then on to Bran’s castle. Lots of steps to get up the hill but the castle was lots of fun to visit. There are some outside displays of craftsmen and a good selection of souvenirs to buy if that is your thing. It was a long day but the scenery was interesting and our guide did everything in his power to make sure we were well looked after.

We were looking for a short guided tour in Europe and came across the 4 days Transylvania Castles Tour for small groups by Rolandia Travels. Since we had never been to Romania before, we decided to explore the country during our short vacation — and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. Romania is truly an underrated gem in Europe. To our surprise, we were the only couple on the tour, so our guide, Danny, essentially gave us a private experience. His knowledge of Romanian history, culture, and daily life made every stop more meaningful. We explored medieval castles, learned about the region’s past, tried traditional Romanian food, and enjoyed great conversations with Danny about modern life in Romania. The tour was well organized from start to finish, and we felt taken care of throughout the trip. We would happily recommend Rolandia Travels to anyone looking to discover Romania in an engaging and comfortable way.
