We scheduled for a Saturday and, without us asking and knowing that town offices would be closed, reached out to those towns in advance and brought certified birth certificates for the relatives we were wanting to learn more about. Erika’s personality and approach connected us with a lot of people in both towns we went to. In the first, she was able to connect us with a cousin we didn’t know we had, and then politely decline their lunch invitation that would have made us unable to visit the second town. During that second visit, we eventually were able to contact a second relative in Pisa who wanted to share their family tree, and Erika offered to relay whatever information they were able to get in the weeks after our visit. The day was lovely, Erika and Filippo were fantastic, and they went above and beyond with the pre-trip work and post-trip follow-up.

Our driver and guide Dario was excellent. His shared his wealth of local knowledge with us. He drove us to Scicli, Modena, and Ragusa. In each location, Dario provided the history of each city, and gave us detailed instructions to go on walking tours on our own. The five hour tour flew by. It was a great experience.

To be honest, I was on the fence about booking a private driver and guide just to visit a small town. I thought we could maybe rent a car and do it ourselves. Big mistake. Looking back, we would have never found any of this stuff on our own. We went to Santa Lucia del Mela to look for my wife’s grandfather’s records. The town is beautiful but the roads are tight and parking looked like a nightmare: Filippo (our driver) handled the van perfectly. It was a relief not to stress about driving. Erika is the real deal. We didn't just walk around; she went straight to the registry office and knew exactly how to talk to the staff to get things moving. Within 45 minutes we had the birth extract in hand. She also translated everything for us with the locals when we stopped for a coffee. We actually found out that the family nickname is still known in the neighborhood! We had the best day on this tour! It was customized to make our experience the best possible. Not only did Erika and Filippo take us to the town our ancestor was from, but also to some historical sites in Messina and Savona and facilitated lunch reservations and all the translating we needed. They knew all the interesting places to go and Erika knew so much history, we felt we learned so much during the day! We felt like we got so much value for our money and enthusiastically recommend their services to anyone considering them!
