Top Punta Cana Shopping Tours

We booked this as an easy way to get off the resort for a bit and do some souvenir shopping, and it was exactly what we were looking for.We had read the reviews ahead of time, so we knew this wasn’t going to be an all-day shopping experience. The shopping center is pretty small and you can easily walk and shop everything in about 1–1.5 hours. You’re guided through different shops where you can sample and buy Dominican rum, chocolate, coffee, and cigars. The excursion is very inexpensive, and it’s pretty obvious the idea is that you’ll spend some money with the vendors while you’re there. We expected that, so it didn’t bother us at all.The highlight for us was definitely the cigars. They’re made in-house, and our guide greeted us with a complimentary cigar when we arrived, which was a really fun touch.Overall, this was a great little outing if you want to get off the resort, try some local products, and knock out your souvenir shopping without giving up half your vacation. Just go in knowing what it is, and it’s a really enjoyable stop.

Was great, our guide helped us with each store about what to expect. He was friendly and patient with my Google translate haha

The tour was great, such great value for money and the guides where just fantastic, they where very friendly and warm and gave us so much information on cigars and the dominican republic and different types of alcohol. I have been on far more expensive tours before but didn’t find them half as interesting or fun. I would highly reccomend! Transport was also very good too

Nice experience the tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable of his job he spoke to us a lot about the current areas we were driving through and took time while we shop and got our gifts. Overall nice experience to try.

First things first: this isn’t really a “tour.” It’s more of a guided shopping experience. You do learn how they make cigars and you get one to smoke, but you don’t learn much about their fields, curing process, or full production cycle. I’m sure I could’ve asked more questions, but that’s what YouTube is for. This is truly a one‑stop shop for anything you’d want to bring back from the DR. They have a wide selection of cigars, rum, and small souvenirs, and the small fee to visit is worth it. However, my wife and I found the coffee and cocoa sections to be lacking. When you arrive, you start with the cigar‑making demonstration and learn how they wrap them. Next is a jewelry shop selling Larimar—native to the DR—and amber sourced in the country. They offer costume jewelry as well as gold and silver pieces at reasonable prices. After that, you visit their main souvenir shop, where you’ll find shot glasses, picture frames, clothing, and other items to remember your trip. This building has an upstairs and downstairs; the upper level has cosmetics and their full cigar lineup (more on that below). After that comes the rum tasting. The rum tasting can be free or cost a little extra. They offer 3–4 small samples of rum, but if you want a full shot or want to try anything beyond their basic rums, expect to pay $3–$7 per shot. You do get a full‑size shot for that price. Their rum selection is great, and the staff member helping us knew the legal amount we could bring back to the U.S., which helped us decide what to purchase. The last two shops weren’t as impactful as the earlier stops because they felt more like simple stores rather than places eager to explain their products. The coffee room had one wall of coffee and related items, and they gave my wife a small, hot, burnt sample. She’s the coffee drinker in the house, and she wasn’t impressed, so we didn’t buy anything there. The final area was a cocoa shop with a ton of local chocolate but no one offering suggestions or any history about their products. We did get samples, but it was basically just, “What would you like?”Circling back to the cigars: since you’re visiting a place that makes its own cigars, most of the options are their own brands. If you’re looking for Cubans, they do sell them, but they’re the most expensive I’ve seen—and I’ve been to three Caribbean countries in the past five years. If you want to see how the DR makes cigars and browse a full room of them, you won’t be disappointed.Overall, I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly and open to answering questions. My wife and I never felt pressured to buy anything at any stop, and we still spent close to $700 and got everything we wanted for ourselves and for family back home. They picked us up at our hotel and brought us back, which is a major advantage. I’m sure you can find other places that offer similar items, but for us, this spot checked every box we had for our trip.

Our driver Geronimo was on time and friendly. He took us to the World Mart Souvenir store and Blue Mall. He was patient didn’t rush you and also offered you more shopping time if you wanted to.

Driver prompt at hotel. Thought as said we would have a guide in the store which we didn’t but really didn’t need any way. Long wait to go back to the hotel but we did have round trip transportation so it was fine.

Mr Javi is an excellent tour guide very helpful definitely recommend, great communication

Angel was our driver and he made it fun and personalized. However, there was not the types of market shopping we were hoping for, that’s only in the weekend.

Excellent Service with round-trip transportation from airport to Dreams Macao in Punta Cana! Very friendly and extremely professional customer service and drivers.🥰

This was a great shopping trip and very inexpensive. The company is nice and will ensure you get to where you are going. My husband love the cigars and purchased several.

Fantastic tour guide! Everything we wanted from a shopping trip. Guide was knowledgeable and very friendly

We had a great day with Robinson. He made us feel like family and was our personal guide for the day as we did an extended excursion. We started near La Romana at the ampitheatre, art area and museum. Beautiful scenery along the way and a visual experience for the slower paced type of day. The views were spectacular and the stonework was amazing! Some beautiful shops and restaurants there, although we didn't eat there. Total time there was about an hour. We proceeded to a massive beautiful church in Higuey. We are not churchgoers but the experience was amazing visually. We entered the church and viewed amazing masterpiece artwork and ashtonishing stained glass. A wonderful experience for the eyes. We spent about 40 minutes in this area and got some amazing pictures. Afterwards Robinson took us through a large gift shop full of souvenirs. After a short stop there we proceeded to a nearby, genuine local food market where there were an array of fruits and vegetables, spices, meats, live animals for purchase such as chickens and turkeys. This was an enjoyable experience to witness and a highlight for us to see. The market was busy and tight for room with locals passing through. Very safe feeling. From there we proceeded to the mountains where the scenery on the drive was amazing. Through cocao and coffee plantations. We were provided lunch where other excursions grouped together to experience a true Dominican cuisine. The food was good. The restaurant was isolated on a beautiful river where you could walk down some steps to take great pictures of rock through the peaceful flowing water. Lunch lasted approximately 40 minutes, where live chickens were freely roaming around. Afterwards, we proceeded to a genuine home of a typical Dominican family from these types of areas where we walked through how they would live. At this location we experienced an excellent and informative presentation on how traditional coffee and chocolate is grown, harvested and prepared for consumption. They allowed tasting of chocolate that was mouth watering. Afterwards the products were available to purchase and was the best option for organic purchasing based on price of all the excursions we did. We purchased pure chocolate and raw sugar cane at this location. We were at this location for approximately an hour or a little more. From there Robinson took us to a genuine cigar making factory, where there were a number of cigar makers at work. They allowed us to roll a cigar of our own to keep. This factory was the best we saw in all of our other excursions involving cigars. As we did purchase and smoke cigars elsewhere, these were the best quality in our opinion. They allow you to walk into their large humidors where they house cigars for export. This was the most interesting cigar factory we witnessed in our entire trip. This was an enjoyable highlight for us. The last stop of the day was to beautiful Macao beach. The day we went was very very windy and no swimming was allowed. There were vendors on the beach that were a little aggressive for purchasing souvenirs but did accept no. There was beer/alcohol and snacks to purchase. Parrot and lizard handlers wandered the beach for picture opportunities. We didn't stay long there, mainly due to the fact we live in an area that has world class beaches. If you are not used to the beach or ocean, Macao beach is a must see, however we felt we would have done this part of the excursion separately if we chose to. By the time we got to the beach we had been on the excursion for about 6 hours and were ready to go to the pool at the resort to finish our day. Robinson spoke good english and was very informative with our questions. Was appreciated we had him all to ourselves. Recommend this excursion for the slower paced, educational minded, and those that want to see the beautiful countryside of the Dominican Republic. The entire excursion lasted about eight hours total, but went at our pace.

Excellent experience! The place is unlike anything I have visited before. It is a real cigar factory, which they export to other countries as well. They also have a coffee and chocolate artisan. The house of rums where the tasting is done is impressive. I recommend them all

We wanted to experience how cigars were made! Our father and grandfather always loved cigars! We toured on the 28 year anniversary of his death! It was wonderful! The cigar process is quite unique and quite time consuming! We enjoyed the demonstration! The shopping experience was easy and reminded me of the good old days when you were catered to when purchasing merchandise! One on one service! I would highly recommend this tour!

Very good store, there are from mugs, keychains, liquors, children's clothes, gentlemen, ladies, stuffed animals and much more houses you can buy to take away souvenir.
