The surf instructors were good communicators and gave us some dry land practice before trying the ocean. The waves were really big because of an offshore hurricane so it wasn’t as beginner friendly as we would have liked but we still had fun!

My fiancée and I had an incredible two-hour surfing lesson at La Punta. It was our first time surfing, and the two instructors were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. By the end of the lesson, we were both actually riding waves on our own! I honestly didn’t expect to progress that much in just two hours—it was an amazing feeling, and we would absolutely recommend this lesson to anyone trying surfing for the first time.

My gf signed me up and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but let me tell you my experience with JoJo was magical and transformative. I arrived full of anxiety, anger, and sadness and left with a healing heart, ready to take on the world. If you’re looking for a sign on whether to take the plunge: this is it. Do the retreat. A few notes on the particulars. The food is absolutely incredible and I say that as someone from Chicago who works in hospitality and is very much not a vegan. Every meal was filling, flavorful, and left my body feeling genuinely great. Thank you, amazing Goddess Paige and David, for the gift of those meals. The bedrooms are comfortable and come with a private bathroom, so yes, you’re in the middle of nowhere, but you are far from camping. The land and hot springs is breathtaking.JoJo will have a full day planned for you, but makes it clear from the start that this is your experience. Move in whatever way honors your body and its needs.I’m also deeply grateful for the other women on the retreat. Being held in community with women from different cultures and backgrounds made the experience something truly special. You leave feeling bonded, supported, and less alone than when you arrived.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Isabela was a great teacher + so friendly and patient. We loved it. We were both able to pop up and ride waves. The price was very reasonable, the boards were perfect for beginners. I'd absolutely recommend it.

I booked this retreat with little expectation and was blown away by my experience. Jojo is amazing and the personal aguahara session was incredible. Our group was small (and so special!), and our days had the perfect balance of structure and flexibility. The food was simple, delicious and nourishing. The property was magical! I could go on and on but do yourself a favor—just book it. I'm so glad I did.

Jojo created a beautiful, healing and informative day retreat for nurturing the goddess within. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to work with water massage, and left the day feeling rejuvenated. Every step of the day was beautifully held. Thank you!

Wonderful couple of hours in the surf with my two boys aged 10 and 13… we’ve never surfed before but the guys ensured we were safe, well looked after and catching waves, while my wife watched on from the beach! With two instructors for the three of us I can highly recommend this trip.

the sun from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is very strong, go carefully so as not to get burned

My son (19 years) and I (45 years) took a surf lesson with Pacific Surf Academy and we are both very satisfied! It was our first time together and the instructors adapted well to our respective rhythms, were kind, polite, funny, competent. Not being athletic or very fit (pretty interested in doing a mother-son activity and still discovering what surfing looks like), I was a bit anxious but all along I felt safe (I was with Donovan). Really, I'm looking for a negative and I can't find!

I did 4x surf lessons over for four days. The Pacific Surf Academy crew were great. Taught me so much and greatly increased my skills from newbie to confident to go and catch my own waves. Big thanks.

I've had the best first retreat experience ever !!!! It has been amazing from A to Z and can't recommend it enough. Jojo creates the best activity plan for the entire stay, that will make you release a lot of energy, connect with others and yourself and heal you profoundly. The location of this retreat is also absolutely fantastic, a beautiful oasis in the Oaxaquena mountains where we were swimming like mermaids every single day and doing yoga/meditation/therapy sessions with the view of the river and trees. The chef also made us some of the best food I've ever had, every single meal. The combination of everything ; swimming in termal pools, aguahara therapy sessions, women circles, connections exercices, yummy healthy meals, sleeping early and with the sound of insects/birds, no-contact with the external world or my phone, and feeling so safe and supported for an entire 5 days is just unmatchable. I can say that it has deeply changed my life and helped me release old emotions that were stuck for almost 20 years. I now get a clearer vision of what I need to focus on for my future and have better tools within myself. I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge with me Jojo, thank you for everything.

The views were amazing, the house is beautiful and has everything and very clean I loved it this place….I can’t wait to come back soon… I highly recommend Jojo is amazing person inside and outside…. It was a beautiful day, full of gifts. It gives you everything you need in a safe and loving space. I went very deep. It gave me so much power. It made me fall in love with life a bit more than I did before. Treat yourself with this unique and loving present, you are worth it and even more.
