Abgou Monastery hike
Today we did a five hour hiking tour with Antigone to the Abgou Monastery in the hills outside Napflio. The hike was perfect for a group. A medium challenge with an amazing destination. A small abandoned monastery with commanding views of the area. Antigone shared her knowledge of history, archeology and nature and even made us coffee on the roof of the monastery. It was a magical day and the April wildflowers were impressive. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to spend a day off the beaten path.

Antigone was a friendly & terrific guide! The pacing of the hike up to Avgou Monastery was compatible, the trail easy to negotiate. She regaled us with history of the region and the monastery. The scenery and wildflowers were gorgeous. The perfect hike for our group, and one she loves as well.

Tucked away in a cool gorge in Greece's Peloponnese region, the Polylimnio waterfalls offer a magical escape. The stunning series of turquoise pools is an unforgettable reward, but the trail to get there is more adventurous than you might expect. While the physical effort and rocky ground demand proper footwear and a sense of adventure, having an expert guide (George is the BEST!) and a delicious, traditional lunch waiting for us made the journey an absolute pleasure. We came for the waterfalls, but left with incredible memories, fantastic photos, and full stomachs. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience. Not too hard. Dimitri is local and knows the history, plants, animals. We were 5 and all had a pleasant experience. highly recommended. He brought picnic with meatballs he cooked eggs and tomatoes from his farm and baked us bread we all enjoyed after our trek. The monks know him well so it made our access easy to monasteries with coffee and sweets waiting for us. Unique & heartwarming time.

Excellent Guided Hike
Hiking with Fotios was our second activity with Explore Messinia during our trip and it was a great day up in the hills above Kardamyli. We saw things we wouldn’t have seen had we gone on our own. (Frankly, we probably would have gotten lost had we gone on our own!) It was fun to have this time with Fotios, learning about the area, local history and about life in Outer Mani. It was a wonderful day!

From the multicolored flowers that appeared by thousands, the fields with the white flowers, the fields with the yellow flowers, the triple leaves, the fields with the red-red paparazzi, the swinging almonds, the birds that play and sing, the blue, the perfect blue-blue of the sky, the mountains of Taigetu that begin to green again, the calderas the paths with the shale , all-pebble mantras . And of course the sea, the real sea as we have to say, completely clear clear clear waters, which you don't often find Especially on the beach of Kardamili in Ritsasi

This hike was a real discovery, a trip through villages, forests, olive trees, the mani gorge, and plenty of beautiful churches; we learned about the regions olives and olive oil, smelled sage and thyme throughout. It was an amazing way to start our Mani discovery week. Yiannis and Paschalis were entertaining, insightful and very patient adapting the hike to our family’s large age span (from 7 to 70) in a total of 4 hours. I highly recommend 2407 if you are interested to discover and appreciate the region.

Our hike through Polylimnio was great. The lakes shimmered in aqua blue, the waterfalls were breathtaking, and the route felt calm and well paced. Our guide Fotios was outstanding from start to finish. He shared clear, engaging stories about the area, nature, and local life, and made everyone feel at ease. We loved the small personal touches, from photo memories to his homemade lunch. The organization was seamless, safety was never in doubt, and the timing was perfect for swimming and photos. We left with great memories and a big smile. Highly recommended.

Outstanding time and souvenir
The trip was better than explained. We were 5 adults. Dimitri is awesome. He is a local resident/guide therefore he gives you the history of the monasteries, explains plants, animals. He is well acquainted with the monks, so we had coffee and sweets offered. He tells you anything you want to know about the land he loves. Very patient with slower walker. We enjoyed sharing this precious time with him and he deserves lot of business.
