Top Nîmes Walking Tours

I was visiting Nimes with my teenaged daughter. Although we had already been here for around 5 days, Celine took us to new and different area of the city that we hadn’t already discovered. The tour had a great balance of excellent food and historical detail. Although I have travelled extensively in France, many of the local delicacies were new to me. The artisans are carefully selected for high class products and it was particularly pleasant to sit above the chocolaterie at lunch time to enjoy bread, brandade, tapenade, cheese, salami and wine before tasting some of the excellent chocolates. We have done a number of food tours of many cities in Europe and elsewhere and this ranks highly among them.

This was the first time I have been the only person on a walking tour.It was great to have one on one conversation,going at my pace and focusing on what I wanted.An excellent down to earth guide. Definitely worth it.

Don’t miss this tour. You will learn fascinating information on how lavender is grown and processed as well as geological details effecting the soil conditions that support the lavender plants. The farm is charming as well as the guide. They sell wonder organic lavender preparations. Bring your own picnic .. they only sell drinks and pastries on site, but there are nice picnic tables available.

Celine gave us the perfect introduction to the culinary delights of Nîmes while showcasing some of her city's most beautiful spots. We started with pompe à l'huile (one of my absolute favorites of the day!) and brioche, followed by several varieties of fougasse, all while admiring the stunning street art from the annual competition. At Les Halles, Celine gathered a picnic of olives, tapenade, brandade, and cheese, which we enjoyed in a lovely restaurant courtyard paired with local wine. We then visited a local chocolatier for a tasting before capping off the tastings with unique gelato flavors at La Dolcezza. The tour concluded across from the ancient Arènes, offering a picturesque view of the city. We were so impressed by the food we tried on this tour that we returned to Mama Masa and La Dolcezza later in our stay. Beyond the food, Celine provided excellent tips for our remaining days. This was a memorable and delicious experience, highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!
