It was great to have an insider tour of the chateau. You don’t get to see every room, because people still actually live in the house, but I felt that we saw plenty. It was a bit of a hike from the tram (about 20) minutes but worth it to me. It was too dang hot to stick around and wander the gardens this time, but I was happy that the tour pass for garden access is good for six months.

The tour is a bit expensive but gives access to a beautiful garden, large, wonderfully flowered with anemones, and all other kinds of flowers and trees very well arranged. A visit to the castle commented by a very aristocratic gentleman, with perfect eloquence and diction, complete scholarship about this castle, the different owners, their history, their treasures, all punctuated by touches of humor which gives this visit a pleasant, lively and relevant tone. I highly recommend it.

The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Only a few rooms of the chateau are open for the tour but I was interested in all the history. The gardens are also lovely. For an extra €5 I even managed to get a wine tasting session. Again very knowledgeable about the wines of the region. Only downside- not easy to get to with public transport and Ubers were hit and miss but managed in the end!

The interest of this attraction is to eat there, visit the castle and gardens, as well as tasting. Access is medium. It has ample parking. You have to take bus 14 (Welsh Variant stop) and walk in an industrial area without interest if you depend on public transport. Restaurant La Folia is the subject of a separate comment. The normal ticket includes access to the garden classified "remarkable garden" and a guided tour of the castle which is still inhabited by descendants of Colbert. I found the guide sharp and interesting on the few pieces we could see. It is necessary to pay extra for the different tastings (from 5 euros) of wines of the castle. The combination offers an interesting and educational outing for a decent price. It is better to book in advance.

This was an interesting visit, though we didn't get exactly what we thought we were paying for. We booked a tour in English (11 Euros) and thought that it also included a wine-tasting, as it was ambiguous on their web-site. In the event, we had to pay an extra 5 Euros to have a guided tasing of five of the chateau's wines (which were very pleasant). The chateau tour is fairly brief, but very informative and our guide was happy to answer questions - despite what you see in the pictures, it is actually relatively small inside (more a hunting lodge, rather than a permanent residence). The gardens are beautiful and well-worth exploring. Our wine tasting was very good, as our 'sommelier' was very informative and explained how the wines were made and how they differed from each other. Getting there via public transport does involve a 20 minute walk from Place de France alongside some pretty busy roads and a grotty industrial estate - worth getting a taxi, if your budget stretches that far.

Our Oenologist-zythologist, Jean-Michel, reveals his surprise of the Castle, wine, of Flaugergues, at 1744 A.C. Albert Einstein from Montpellier. Best known as being a remarkably beautiful garden. Giant bubbles, magic illuminations, drone show, mind-blowing. Fairy lanterns, glittering aurora borealis, savannah animals, dragons, pandas, and other creatures, real or imaginary, that put stars in the eyes.

Finish by tasting the wines of the castle with possibility of purchase at the shop (from 9 euros per bottle) Ideally plan to be on site at noon for lunch in the courtyard (menu at 28 euros) We had a great time

Very well organised tour of the house . The guide spoke excellent English and was very attentive to all the group’s questions . Voltaire even had a connection with this rich family . The bedroom with laced crib an eagle above the bed and accessories on the dressing table were informative of that era. The paintings on the wall were added after some tapestries were destroyed .These paintings are enchanting . The grounds superb . The wine tasting was professionally done . Well done to our guide .

A beautiful residence, which has remained the property of the descendants. The interior is only accessible by guided tour, “backstage of the castle”, with a very beautiful staircase (25% of the surface area!) and 4 or 5 rooms.

We were catching a train to Paris in the afternoon and took a chance on spending some time at the Chateau Flaugergues and we were not dissapointed.We opted for the Duo ticket which was a 1 hour tour of the gardens and the Chateu (the family still live in the chateau), a wine tasting experience, 3 course lunch in the restaurant and a bottle of wine to take away with you.The quality of the food and wine was exceptionally and you get all of this for 2 people for just $85 euro, what a bargain.

Highly recommend: estate has six gardens, 36 acres of winery and garden vegetables. Owner of property gave us a tour of the five rooms of his home with background stories and answered all questions. Afterwards he lead the three wines with a tasting outside in their patio. Entertaining 90 minutes schedule it

Interesting country house (“Folie”) overlooking Montpellier. The visit includes the history of the family and the building, and ends with a wine tasting.You can get there with tram line number 3, plus a 20 minute walk. The alternative is to take a cab, faster, but more expensive.
