Unforgettable First Hot Air Balloon Flight over Trakai
This was my first hot air balloon flight, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Lithuania.Everything was very well organized from the beginning. The team contacted us in advance, confirmed the meeting point, arranged transportation to the take-off area, and also organized the return transfer after landing. Everything went smoothly and exactly as planned.I flew with three friends, and one of the things I especially liked was that we could take part in preparing the balloon before the flight. After landing, we also helped pack it away. It was really interesting to see the whole process from the inside and not just be passengers.The flight itself lasted about one hour, exactly as we had agreed in advance. We flew over beautiful lakes near Trakai, and we could see Trakai Castle in the distance. The views were fantastic and the whole atmosphere was calm, exciting, and unforgettable at the same time.Our pilot, Valentas, was excellent — very professional, friendly, and confident. During the flight, he told us interesting facts about hot air balloons, their history, who invented them, and how the first balloon flight took place.One of the most memorable moments happened while we were flying along a river. We passed about 20 meters from a group of people standing on a high riverbank and waving to us. Valentas handled the balloon very professionally and even greeted them as we flew past. Later, those people contacted the pilot, and through him we exchanged videos — they had filmed us flying past, while we had filmed them from the balloon. It was such a unique and funny moment.The landing was smooth and safe. At the end, we had a traditional first-flight ceremony, received certificates, and were treated to a glass of champagne.Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Great organization, beautiful views, a very professional pilot, and lots of memorable moments. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Trakai or Vilnius.
