The Best Way To See Trakai Castle!
I had an amazing time at Trakai castle but our guide really made the trip! The castle is stunning, absolutely beautiful, and the area surrounding it is peaceful and tranquil. You can see why it’s one of the absolute must-dos when you’re visiting Lithuania.It was, however, our guide, Patricija, that really elevated the experience. She was engaging and knowledgeable, as well as warm and funny. On the way to the castle, she was able to provide real context to the history of the country and the castle itself, setting the scene for the journey, preparing us for what was about to come. By the time we’d arrived, we were all very excited!What was really nice, though, is that she was clear and concise with her info, and gave the group space to take in the surroundings, both on and off the coach. She had an easy manner, and brought people into the conversation, with their questions, answering anything that was put her way, which is a real skill.The hill of angels was the cherry on the cake, and wandering around the art works, was wonderful.There are many ways to go Trakai, but the comfort of a bus ride, and your own guide is seriously too good to pass up. It was great value, relaxed and very informative. When returning to Vilnius, I will definitely be using Jim’s tours again!
