Wonderful tour with an excellent friendly flexible and knowledgable guide who seemed to know his way around everywhere and in every situation -Ebenezer. Have to be prepared for rain and cold and heavy winds. Our guide knew the best places to go for touring and for eats - a very pleasant surprise

Michael gave us a thorough and enthusiastic walk and talk through the history of Kirkwall. A highlight was the visit to Saint Magnus Cathedral. Michael was full of stories about the place and really brought it alive for us. I wondered how a walk-through this relatively small town could be made interesting over a four hour period but the time flew past, albeit with a brief stop in a cafe on the way. Thoroughly recommend it!

Helen was very patient and introduced every important historical location in town with great details. Lots of old stories about local customs, language and archaeology were told. Really appreciate the whole tour!

Informative, thoughtful tour of primarily Neolithic Orkney that illuminated the prehistory of the island and early peoples Our guide, Ebenezer, was knowledgeable, thoughtful and took extra time to ensure we got the most of our tour. We were primarily focused on the neolithic sites, but he offered additional areas of interest and funny anecdotes. He was personable and entertaining to boot! We would highly recommend him.

This tour was organized by a 3rd party, Top Private Tours UK. I was very happy with communication overall. I did get very nervous when I was told they were overbooked and having a hard time finding tour guides, especially after I had paid for the tour in full months ahead of time. They did manage to get us a private guide and he was absolutely fantastic in every way. His name is Ewan Clouston with adventureorkney.com. He was timely, thoughtful, and as a native Orcadian, was full of incredible information. His Volvo was clean and comfortable and held the 4 of us (average size) easily. We were able to see everything as promised with time to spare. It was refreshing to hear about what it's like to grow up and live in the Orkney Islands. The country side and coastal edges were just beautiful, even on a windy and rainy day. This was perhaps one of the highlights of our British Isles cruise trip. Very good tour… covered a lot of ground, very personable guide, and we were incredibly lucky to have perfect weather! Pace was perfect for us.Only complaint is that we were not provided with water as promised in the trip information (we probably should have asked). Also, probably because we started later in the morning (9:30 instead of 7:30, which was fine with us), we did not go to Broch of Gurness. It would have been nice to visit Maeshowe .

Such a phenomenal tour of Orkney. Ebenezer is a fantastic tour guide- knowledgable, friendly and a great sense of humor. He was waiting for us when we disembarked- all the tour operators know each other at the port so it was easy to find him. He made sure we were able to see everything on the tour list, made lunch reservations for us in advance to ensure wed have time for dining and be seated, and made sure we were back to the boat on time. I’d definitely recommend this tour and Ebenezer as a guide. A fabulous day and Orkney is so beautiful.
