The whole team was super friendly, welcoming, and professional, and we immediately felt comfortable.A special shoutout to our surf instructor Kainoe – he was absolutely incredible! 🤙 He was so patient, encouraging, and positive, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He really took the time to make sure we felt safe and confident in the water, while still making the lesson so much fun.Thanks to Kainoe, we managed to catch some waves and had such an unforgettable experience! You can really tell that he loves what he does and genuinely enjoys teaching people how to surf. He made our surf lesson in Maui something we will remember for a long time.We enjoyed it so much that we immediately booked another lesson!Thank you so much, Kainoe, and the whole team, for such an amazing experience! Great time. I got up successfully after a few tries, and got up almost every time after that. I had time for a little more than 20 attempts. They gave us 12 foot longboards to use. They also provided a rash guard shirt and shoes, so you don’t need to bring those. There is a grassy area where family members who are not surfing can watch.

We've been to Hans Hedemann Surf School twice - once recently and once 2 years ago. That says a lot right there. We had such a good experience the first time that we were willing to pay for it a second time. The safety prep is done well and the instructors really stick with you out in the water. It's been a great experience overall.

From beginning to end, the experience was unforgettable! Our first time surfing, we thought it would be overwhelming, but Sean our extremely knowledgeable instructor made it all a breeze. Max was the epitome of “surf is life.” From start to finish, he was professional, patient, passionate, and genuinely invested in making the experience special. Most importantly, he was amazing with my 6-year-old daughter, Paisley. He knew exactly how to make her feel comfortable, encouraged her every step of the way, and turned her first surfing experience into something she’ll never forget. This ended up being one of the best memories of our daddy-daughter trip, and Max deserves a huge amount of credit for that. We came for a surf lesson and left with an experience we’ll talk about for years. P.S. — Do yourself a favor and add the drone video with his partner OG. The footage is absolutely incredible and captured moments we otherwise never would have had. Totally worth it! Thank you, Max and OG, for an unforgettable experience!
