Our food tour through Shanghai with Yanny was absolutely fantastic. If you're looking for an authentic, delicious, and memorable culinary adventure, you will love it. We sampled an incredible variety of dishes, including the delicious pineapple bun, classic soup dumplings and spicy mapo tofu. Our guide flawlessly navigated us from classics like savory Cantonese-style roast meats to bold street food - including crickets. The juicy lamb skewers were a crowd-pleaser, paired perfectly with soft and warm scallion pancakes. Awesome experience. Highly recommended!

Our food tour with Yanny was the highlight of my first visit to Shanghai. From start to finish, she showed a genuine passion for Chinese provincial food culture.The standout moments for me were the lamb kebabs, combined with a great local beer. Not to be outdone by trying spiced Locusts for the first time. Places and dishes I would never have been brave enough to try solo.While I am sincerely full after the trip, I would definitely go again! And 1000% recommend to anyone.

Introduction to Shanghai
A great introduction to all that Shanghai has to offer. We visited the Yu gardens followed by a cruise down the river. Lunch at a traditional Shanghai restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. Sean was very flexible and was very helpful when one of our team took ill and needed to go back to the hotel. We followed through with a walk along the Bund with detailed explanation from Sean about the history of the buildings. A thoroughly enjoyable day out.

This Shanghai Tour is truly amazing
The tour was wonderful and should be taken by anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time. Our tour guide Apple was very kind and considerate. She took us to all the incredible places while providing all the interesting background and history. We enjoyed all the old and new locations like the Yu Gardens and the financial district. For lunch, we very much enjoyed the various kinds of yummy soup dumplings too. The driver was very nice and dropped us off and picked us up at the most convenient locations, and safely. Highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Peggy, was beyond our expectations. First her English was perfect, her delivery of Shanghai China, history was very detailed, she relayed data from past to present and we could relate to our understanding of the history. Extremely personable as well having concern for our well being. She introduced us to Chinese delicacies and fantastic tea tasting. She also address our individual request of numerous information to the understanding of the Chinese culture. My friend and I would definitely recommend anyone to book with them. We are very season travels.

Joy, our tour guide was lovely. The food was good and we really enjoyed the whole experience. In particular, the dumplings at the first stop were fabulous. We had a great time with the group, everyone was so friendly and also gave us tips for the rest of our travels. A well organised tour by Lost Plate. We’re looking forward to our next one!

Our full day, Private tour of Shanghai with Peggy was absolutely fantastic. Peggy was extremely knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited, with very detailed explanations and information. Her English is perfect, and she has a wonderful sense of humor. She also took us to a great restaurant .What an amazing guide to spend the day with. This was a WONDERFUL experience. The tour guides were EXCEPTIONAL and the food was plentiful and delicious. I don't eat red meat nor pork and adequate provisions were made for me. Walking helped manage the guilt of eating so much.
