Cant reccomend this enough. Kevin was great providing us with great commentary and entertainment. A good choice of stops with lunch at a pub, although it was a bit messy how they handled payment which was not the tour operators fault. Worth going just to hear Kevin sing!

Amazing experience being in Donegal and dancing to Irish tunes

We had an excellent private (2 persons) tour with Chieftain Tours. We explained our likes and dislikes and how we would like to vary from the timeline of the typical tour itinerary we booked. Joe was GREAT about coming up with new stops catered to our preferences to fill the time of the places we wanted to skip.He provided wonder history and insights about the region, and always volunteered to play photographer throughout the day. One request we had was to take a photo with a sign that said Letterkenny, as we had family from that area. He found a great photo op w the English and Irish spelling in front of a beautiful church.

Whether passing ancient ruins or dramatic coastal scenery, he always had the perfect story or historical context to bring it all to life.Joe effortlessly blended humor, history, and heart into every stretch of road. What a fabulous day we had with Martin. He was very knowledgeable about the area, especially the flora and fauna and history. He has a great sense of humor and he was so accommodating to our interests and needs. We highly recommend his private tour.

Emerald Isle Tours put together the perfect day trip for me and my friends. For me it was very personal, discovering roots I learned about recently through Ancestry. Connie knows Ireland so well, and the area I wanted to see like the back of her hand. We went to places I'd never have seen with any other tour company. She came a fair distance to pick us up and bring us back so was a long day for her. She was very generous with her time and her stories and was a delight to spend time with and get to know. We had been planning our long-awaited first trip to Ireland, and while we had a general idea of a few places & things we *had* to take in, it was getting overwhelming to narrow down all the possibilities. Also, wondering what a realistic itinerary would be for a self-drive tour. Connie of Emerald Isle Tours was a lifesaver. She made a custom itinerary that accommodated our own "must-see/do" list, combined with delightful other places and experiences, that made each day exciting, yet personal and comfortable. There were also enough options and flexibility built in, that we could adapt it when we needed to (lingering over coffee near Cliffs of Moher) without throwing off the whole schedule.Another plus of having an itinerary, it kept us moving. There is so much to see and do in Ireland, I fear it would have been easy to dally in many places, but then we would have missed out or had to cut short on things that were ultimately important to us! Connie's itinerary didn't make us feel rushed, but it did help with pacing ourselves - allowing enough time to really "visit" a place, rather than just "stop by". And the lodging places were outstanding!If you are stuck in your own planning, unable to make a decision, like we were, I highly recommend contacting Connie, she will be the lifeline you need to rescue your vacation with a sane but fabulous experience. We had a great day with Kevin, learning about the Donegal area and seeing many sights. He was informative and had a great sense of humor. Driver Dan also did a great job.

Absolutely wonderful day with Kevin and Dan the driver. A Very friendly and experienced guide; Kevin filled us in on Irish life, each place we visited and answered all questions. The scenery and vistas were breathtaking; lunch was great and Kevin provided outstanding song and guitar on a few songs. Don’t miss this tour-so happy we did this one instead of the version from our cruise line.

It was a private daylong tour through county donegal with stops at donegal castle and slieve league (the famed cliffs of donegal bay). The guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the area.

We had Joe as our guide / driver and he was excellent with our time and giving us the information and history of all the areas we visited. Had great stories and knowledge of all the locations we visited.
