My husband and I spent a wonderful morning with Nathaniel. He showed us many local sites and shared his knowledge of the history. I also took so many beautiful photos from places that I would not have known about. It was just the two of us, so it felt like a private tour. We really enjoyed our time in Chur, and our tour with Nathaniel. I highly recommend this tour!

Nathaniel was lovely to sightsee with. He knew the history, beautiful places for photos, and some places off the beaten path that my husband I had requested since it was just the two of us. I have so many beautiful photos to remember this special trip.

The tour guide shares his love of the Chur’s (pronounced Khoor) history with insights from local lore and song.It’s a challenge. The town’s history dates to the Stone Age because it occupies the crossroads of the only north south and east west valleys connecting Switzerland. It therefore played an important role in the trade between Germany and Austria to the north, France to the , and Italy to the south.The guide explains the history of how this small village came to patiently evolve out of the feudal system, and into a self governing council representing the local guilds in the area. Similarly, the towns, history balances, hosting a bishop since 400 A.D. while eventually adapting to a “reformed“ protestant church (who is two main edifices are only a few blocks from each other). The Guide even provides an excellent introduction into the local German and. Romansch languages (and the patch work local dialects of these languages) through the example of folk songs sung by the Guide.

Markus inspired us with his passion for wine from the Grisons rule! He was able to pass on his knowledge to us in a simple and understandable way.

The wine tour with Markus was fantastic!! We saw 2-3 vineyards and were able to see the grapes being harvested up close in the field (lucky timing for the harvesting). The wine tasting and seeing the production process was very educational. Markus made entire experience fun and enjoyable. I would recommend this small group wine tour and tasting to anyone visiting Zurich. The 1 hour train ride from Zurich to Landquart was easy and you get to see some of the pretty Switzerland landscape/mountains on the train ride.

Our journey through Chur's instaworthy spots with David was filled with surprises. He showed us the city's hidden gems and photogenic corners, making our visit to Chur an unforgettable experience. Get ready for stunning photos!

Giuseppe was a wonderful tour guide! He was also very easy to work with on scheduling! He went above and beyond by taking us in his personal car outside the city for some spectacular views of Chur. I can’t recommend this tour enough!!

Simon was our tour guide. Since we were the only ones on the tour, Simon came to our hotel to pick us up instead of us trying to meet him. Simon listened to what we were interested in and made the tour our own. We had a good walk around the old part of town. He gave us the choice of avoiding busy traffic areas.

Hans was very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful tour of the lovely city of Chur. He gave us a historical perspective of the city, and while our tour was only 90 minutes he was able to give us a broad scope of the city.

We had a great time with our guide Markus, who introduced us to the history of the Bündner Herrschaft and the secrets of winemaking with a lot of humor and knowledge. The beautiful landscape combined with the tour of a wine cellar and the subsequent wine tasting, which was accompanied by delicious Graubünden specialties, rounded off the tour. It was a great event and we will definitely be back.

Our private tour with Markus on May 11th was very nice. We learned a lot about wine growing and processing. It was very informative. Markus has a lot of specialist knowledge. And the selected wines were all very good.

We had a nice 90 minute walking tour & appreciated some interesting information about Chur & ties to the Romans. It would have been helpful in the tour description to allude to, other than it is the oldest town in Switzerland, the fact that 90% of the town burnt down in the 14th century, as my expectations of seeing earlier architecture would have been a bit different. However, there is a lot of history & stories, that can be brought out in stronger story lines than we were presented which could spark more intriguing narratives. At times, the town appeared to be right out of “Pillars of the Earth”, so that was really fascinating to me, especially how the cathedral was built & remodeled through history. As it was, we were taken to sites of interest, just could have used some more ‘zip’ in the narrative because there appears to be a lot of history & stories to build on.

This town has so many hidden little gems. Our tour guide Hans was full of information. We walked all over town to many areas that I didn’t know existed. It was freezing cold but he made it interesting & enjoyable. Sorry for the confusion with the meeting point Hans but must thankyou for coming out in the freezing cold weather & for being such an amazing tour guide. Your knowledge & explanations were fantastic, I learnt so much in such a short amount of time here.
