Matera is a dream place... With thousands of paths up and down.. the views are special. The guide Jean Frank and the driver of the Adriano vehicle, very friendly made our ride formidable... Super recommend them

Our excursion to Matera and Altamura was absolutely fantastic! Both destinations offer a unique glimpse into the history, culture, and natural beauty of the region.Matera left us in awe with its iconic Sassi, the ancient cave dwellings that have been beautifully preserved and restored. Walking through its narrow alleys felt like stepping back in time. The panoramic views from the city were breathtaking, and the guided tour provided fascinating insights into its long and rich history. It’s no surprise that Matera is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Altamura was equally captivating. Famous for its Pane di Altamura, we had the chance to taste the traditional bread, which was delicious. The historic center was charming, and we enjoyed exploring the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, a remarkable example of Apulian Romanesque architecture.The overall organization of the excursion was excellent. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic, making the experience even more enjoyable.We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the hidden gems of southern Italy. It’s an experience that combines history, culture, and gastronomy in a way that is both enriching and unforgettable.

This was a fabulous tour. The best things were as follows: our guide was exceptional. Well organised extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. As I have a disability and used my motor scooter he went over and above to ensure I got the most from the trip. Always attentive whilst looking after everyone else. He made the whole experience unforgettable ably assisted by the driver who was also excellent lifting my scooter on and off every time with a great big smile. Could make a slight improvement by having a microphone as it was hard to hear a lot of the time. The sights were all spectacular and culminating in the fantastic Matera. A really good balance of guiding and info and then time to wander an absorb the culture and local treats. Ryanair must also be congratulated on the flight experience with the motor scooter. Special assistance was top notch. Things that could be better are: the hotel was adequate but nothing to write home about. Breakfast ok although exactly the same choice every day. Had to choose in the morning what you wanted for dinner only 2 choices which were decidedly average. Had to pay for tap water at the table unacceptable and no tea & coffee facilities in the bedroom. Also men were working outside our bedroom very loudly too early in the morning.
