Top Austria Sightseeing Passes

Vienna Pass purchased to try to save something on attractions; in reality, the biggest advantage is that the Vienna Pass assistance/information office responds reactively, advising and helping with reservations even before arriving in Vienna and activating the pass.

Our 6 day pass was absolutely worth it. We saved a huge amount in admission charges. The hop on hop off bus enabled us to get to things that were further away. We visited everything we wanted to see, plus some things that we might not have chosen to have done, had we needed to pay an entrance fee. We were let down by the bus on one occasion, unfortunately. We had boarded the yellow line bus at Lower Belvedere, with the intention of staying on the bus all the way to the Schonbrunn. The bus stopped at the Opera and a lot of people got on. At that point it changed its route from yellow to blue, but no announcement about this was made until the bus was about to depart. Passengers who were already on the bus should have been informed about the change - the driver was apologetic but it was annoying because whilst we were sitting on the bus, another Yellow bus departed, which we missed and then faced a wait of 25 minutes (we got the train instead!).

We took the flexi pass for 2 days because my mother-in-law walks with a walker. We bought 2 attractions / museums and you could take a boat trip. We loved it. We loved it. Almost all 3 routes looked at so we also came outside the center. I thought it was a great way to see this city.

Vienna always beautiful..second time in a few months .qs time in September in the weekend of the Boris disturbance .. so the weather a nightmare .. but the city is always one of my favorites .. a place that shows beauty in every corner .. I did Shonbrunn .. Recommendation grand tour 32 euro .. with the vienna pass you see only a few rooms .. At the max you pay the difference. But do the grand tour.. Then of course we saw the belvedere and the Albertina. Excellent..with the terrible weather that there was..the only way to survive were the museums

We had bought the pass for 2 adults and 2 children up to 15 years. Good deal for us! Unlimited access to all museums and churches (at the Schloss for max €9 p.p. extension purchased. Recommended!). The use of the hop on hop off bus is also very nice. Especially since there are 4 lines running! We saved a lot of money because of this pass. Definitely recommended!

We recently returned from a European trip that included 3 full days in Vienna. We decided to purchase the 3-day Vienna Pass and were certainly glad that we did. Over 3 days, we went to 23 attractions and rode the HOHO bus several times. We are really good at maximizing our time. To get the full benefit of the pass, you need to group your attractions by location so that you can see a lot of them each day. We were happy to do this and never felt rushed. On Day 1, we picked up the pass at the office and headed straight to the Sisi Museum. Then we did the Spanish Riding School and the Austrian National Library State Hall. We had booked tickets for the Opera House tour that afternoon ahead of time (the Vienna Pass office was very good about responding to my email on how to do that ahead of time before we arrived in Vienna). We also did the Papyrus Museum and the Royal History Through the Years. We tried to find the Habsburg Tour listed in the book and went to several locations but no one seemed to know anything about that so don't waste your time on this one. We also did the House of Music on Day 1.Day 2, we took the subway early in the morning to Schonbrunn Castle. No line ups and no problems getting a ticket. We upgraded by paying 9 Euros each for a more extensive tour of the castle (not needed if you aren't that interested...the Vienna Pass standard ticket actually comes with good access to the state rooms - I was suprised by this based on other reviews I read but I think the Schonbrunn has increased access for VP holders). Also, in the future, you will be able to book a ticket for Schonbrunn ahead of time and not have to show up at the ticket office on the day of (VP is working on this). We also did the Gloriette (well worth it and I would recommend the restaurant at the end of the Glorirette for lunch - it was very good), and the maze, the palm house, the Imperial Carriage Museum, and the zoo. We rode the train at the Schonbrunn and also at the zoo (both covered by the VP). After all that, we took the HOHO to the Upper Belvedere.Day 3, we took the HOHO to the Prater Park where we did the Ferris Wheel, Madame Tussauds and the Prater Museum. We got back on the HOHO and went to the Danube Tower where we had lunch at the revolving cafe at the top (very good food and views). We then took the HOHO to the Kunsthistoriches Museum, walked to the Imperial Treasury and the Natural History Museum.Overall an excellent experience with the VP. No issues at any of the attractions. I enjoyed the HOHO and thought the commentary was good. The HOHO is covered on top which is nice when it's raining but keep in mind that when it's sunny, it gets very hot on the top level as it's almost like a greenhouse. We really liked having the pass and knew that we would have the ability to go into an attraction if we felt like it and could leave if we didn't like it, and it was no big deal since we never really "paid extra" for the attraction. I would gladly purchase the VP again. I understand that it might not be worth it if you are only in Vienna for 1 or 2 days but 3 days was really optimal.

Highly recommend! This was perfect for our family of 3(including one 7YO) since we were able to use it for so many things! We used it for; the Spanish Riding School, the Schönbrunn Palace(state apartments and children’s museum), the Hop on and Off Bus to get us around, and the Prater Ferris Wheel! It helped save a lot of $ and gave us options. We did the 5 passes for 2 adults and 1 child.

We bought the pass with 5 uses, the skip the line at museums was great and we used all 5 options in 3 days. The team at the office, opposite the Opera House were friendly and Informative when we picked up our tickets. Worth the money for us as a family of 4.

A great way to visit a lot of the attractions in Vienna especially if you have limited time. You still need to reserve tickets for a few places (Schönbrunn, Opera tour, Spanish Riding School), but it is so easy to just show the pass and enter everywhere you want. Some places you can skip the lines but not all of them. I probably saw 10 more museums that I was planning to just because I have the pass and it was so easy to get in. So great to skip the line in many places. However the pass does not cover everything or the best options. For example the cruise is only on the Canal and does not get on Danube. Also at Schönbrunn, it covers the State Apartments (smallest tour) , but you can pay the different and get the full tour - which is what you want. I wish I had more time to visit everything.

Good service and convenient. My only complaint is the traffic in Vienna which is maddening. The bus could use some charging outlets but it was clean and comfortable.

We purchased a Vienna pass for 3 days prior to arrival in the city. I read a bit of the guide you obtain prior to visiting, and it helped make the best use of your time, particularly knowing whish bus or U Bann to take and which station to get off. you can purchase a 1 day, 2 day or 3 day or 6 day pass, but felt a 4 or 5 day pass should have also been available. We found 3 days gave us a decent period of time for getting to see the venues that we were interested in visiting. The Vienna pass was hassle free, no need to pay entrance fees at each location. The Ubann day pass at 8 euros each greatly eased travelling.

1 say is not enough, use this pass if traveling more than 1 day, the green colored pass would have been cheaper if touring only for 1 day

That's great. Only 144€ for 3:days all inclusive except the cathedral is fine. Highly recommended I would increase the stops and start the first one a moment before

Vienna Pass is really useful for travellers wanting to visit as much of Vienna as possible. It's a bit more expensive than other tourist cards but Vienna pass gives free access to lots of places including all the main places. The hop-on, hop-off bus routes are also really practical to get around the city. I would definitely recommend this for tourists wanting to see lots in a short city break.

We only had one day to use the pass (so many places to see). Our only issue is that one of the buses never came to one of the stops (Naschmarkt). It looked like we saw it but ultimately we ended up walking to another stop (about 10 minutes) and picking up one of the other color buses there.

Instead of the Vienna Pass, we got both the Sisi Ticket and the Treasures of the Habsburgs Ticket. This enables getting into these major sites (Schönbrunn Palace Grand Tour, Hofburg Palace/Sisi Museum, and Kunsthistorisches Museum) without needing timed entry reservations. If you have the Vienna Pass, you have to show up at the actual site first, and then get a timed entry which could be much later or for another day.
