Top Alton Theme Parks

My daughter and I just spent two days and an overnight in the Alton Towers Hotel. We had a great time. The hotel was excellent, the room was good and the breakfast fabulous. The park is big and there is a lot of walking but we took it slowly and got every ride in, twice in most cases. We were there when the children were back at school so it was pretty quiet which was great as the queue lengths were short. unfortunately for us the Skyride was shut for most of the day and the Congo River was shut. Next year we will do the same trip but in May to use ride the river. I did have one huge piece of luck. First ride on the second day and my keys fell out of my pocket on Galactica. I was told to return at the end of the day and they would walk the track to try and find them. Imagine my surprise when they were found. I was able to cancel the £270 locksmith and drive home.

Had an absolutely amazing experience will definitely be visiting again soon would highly recommend people visit alton towers the theme park is fantastic and the woodland lodges are beautiful

My Daughter wanted to go here for her 12th birthday, we travelled up from Dover and stayed in a nearby Travelodge. It was definitely worth it. It was March so it was still term time, so we were lucky the park was relatively quiet, no queueing for more than 15 mins maximum. And my daughter and her sister loved every moment of it. The rides were well maintained and worth it. The only annoying thing is how far away everything was for each other, other than that it was lovely. I would definitely go again, my toddler would love the smaller rides. Fun was had by all and overall it was good. The only downside was how expensive food and drinks are in the Costa there. I even paid for the photos I just loved them so much!!

Amazing day out. Perfect day for it. Didn’t have to wait long for any of the rides and even got on some twice. Some internal items are way way overpriced but the whole experience was truly amazing. Memories to be remembered for a long long time

We stayed with the 'kids swim free' offer from 18th - 19th August which included an overnight stay, park access and breakfast. We paid about £478 which included bronze fast track for 2 people. This is the 6th time we have done an overnight trip with our children and they are now 5 years old and 9 years old. Over the years we have stayed in the Cbeebies Hotel and now that they are older the last couple of times the Splash Landings Hotel and we absolutely love it. It's not cheap but it does make wonderful memories! We got to the theme park on the first day for when it opened. The boys went to The Smiler first as this isn't included in the bronze package and they got on it within 20 minutes. Then used their fast track for Oblivion, Thirteen, Rita, Nemesis and Galactica. Meanwhile my little girl and I took at trip to Cbeebies and we bought the fastrack option for £10 each which gave you 3 rides. We queued up for Bluey straight away which meant we could then go on it again and use our Fast track to skip the queue the second time. We got on the Go Jetters in 5 minutes, then Peter Rabbit within 20 minutes then used the fast track for In the Night Garden and the Tree Top Ride. We then met up for lunch and went to the restaurant Oak in Chains by Hex, the food was lovely.... but it was very expensive especially the drinks. As a family of 4 we then went on Hex, The Runaway Mine Train and River Rapids and we queued for these rides which was fine as they boys had already done most of the bigger rides before lunch! Fast Track is a game changer... If you can save up to treat yourself I would 100% recommend it. We did the Spinball Whizzer and the Smiler again later on in the afternoon and queued for about 40 minutes each for these rides. We left the park at 7pm but we took a trip in the car to go and pick up some snacks from a local Spar for the children. I don't rate the evening meal at the Splash Landings hotel and after a big lunch they didn't need much to eat. Then we made out way back to the hotel and chilled out ready for the next day at the waterpark. The children and Mum and Dad love the waterpark, there are plenty of slides to choose from 'Master Blaster' is our fave, lazy river and we love being able to enjoy the outdoor section too! After a morning in the Waterpark we made use of the free mini golf which we have done a couple of times over the years. It can get busy but this time we went at about 12:30pm and it was quite quiet which was a nice surprise. The course does look a little tired so it could use a little attention and care as it's a great benefit with it being included in the price! Hopefully Alton Towers will spruce it up a little and keep it as an added extra for hotel bookings. Overall we had a lovely time and we will be back to do it all over again next year :)

Great visit to Alton Towers. Stayed in a lovely Woodland Lodge Enchanted Forest. Very quiet today. Got on lots of rides. Longest queue was 15 minutes. Our best visit here yet.

Fantastic day out with a 6 year old, 4 year old and 5 adults! The 6 year old was able to ride some of the bigger rides (Runaway train, Wickerman and Thi3teen) and the 4 year old enjoyed Hex, Gangsta Granny and Bluey. They both loved it!! First time we have ventured properly outside of CBeebies with them. Limited queues - about 30 to 40 mins for the 1.4m rides. Also used parent Q share for Wickerman which was great, and my son got a birthday certificate. Would always try to go on an inset day/ term time to make the most of it. Used Clubcard vouchers - super easy booking - and booked a 2-day (cheaper!) ticket but only used one day, even though we stayed in the hotel, as we had to get home.

Great day from start to finish! I live 3 hrs away. The last time I visited was around the 2007. Wow, it’s changed so much since then. There were 5 in our group (mixed ages) and everyone had a great day! The staff were so helpful, friendly and came across as enthusiastic and empowered to take control and make sensible, on the spot decisions when required. We eat in the Rollercoaster restaurant which was a novel, worth while experience. The gardens were fantastic considering how warm and dry it has been this summer, the place is huge and immaculately tidy. The coasters were hard core and we couldn’t get enough. Favs were The Smiler, Wicker Man, Galactica and Nemesis. Well done Alton Towers!! Hopefully, it won’t be another 20 years before I get to visit again.

We will visit again. There are lots of fun experiences. My toddlers really had lots of fun and didn't want to leave😩😂

Very nice. However, the ques were massive; which was the only downside of it.

Absolutely love alton towers- Awesome theming across the park and all the rides -Barely had to wait for the rides we tried -Extremely clean and tidy across the entire park.The only negative point being a bigger not realising the seats would be that restrictive. I Did try the test seats however you can't try them until your actually in the park.My only suggestion for Alton towers is to have test seats before you purchase tickets so that us larger customers dont waste money and sometimes avoid the embarrassment of not being able to ride.

Can you believe we have just packed everything in and left early. No fast track. Just normal entrance to rides. Arrived 10:30 and back on the road by 3pm. Longest queue Nemesis as only 1 car running and said 40mins but was actually 25. It’s been 20 years since we were last here and refused to go in summer holidays. Didn’t expect to get all the big rides in. Definitely worth the wait. Worked our way from Wickerman round to Spinball. And Smiler by far was the best of them. Tip! Avoid the monorail and walk to the entrance. And make sure you have your car parking paid.

Amazing experience at The Alton Towers Hotel in a Artic Explorer room. Customer service was great as was the evening meal and breakfast. Theme park was brilliant. Will be visiting and staying at the same hotel

Really good - especially compared to Chessington (my local). Rides were mainly operating, the range of ride suitability was good for young / older children. The sensory area and SeaLife area was really good for neurodivergent children who needed some calm.Probably my only quibble was with the eating - queues were extremely long, and there was a lack of seating, and the tables that were available were covered in food, sauces etc with no cleaner in site.
