Spent a fantastic day seeing some great small villages and nature sights on our tour. Jamie is a fantastic tour guide and is quite entertaining. Super knowledgeable on the area’s local history and very friendly and is very patient and made the trip so easy. We had rain on the way but it cleared and the day was just outstanding. Would highly recommend this day trip to see the NE coastal corner of places you would most likely miss on your own. Thanks very much Jamie. See you in a return trip. Scott and Ilze

This was an excellent tour. Seeing the rugged terrain along the North Sea of Scotland was breathtakingly beautiful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable regarding the fishing villages we went to. I would recommend this tour and guide. It was a small group.

We had a fantastic day, and can't thank Alan enough for his hospitality. He had proactively adjusted the tour to avoid heavy traffic, which meant we still did a good amount of activities. He kindly offered to help take photos, shared facts and legends about the area, and drove well on the road. It was worth getting to know Scotland a bit more intimately and recommend this tour to anyone. We visited Slains Castle (don't miss this!), a Puffin nesting site, several harbours and the Dolphin Sanctuary. He adjusted timings as we went, to ensure we stayed on track and had the appropriate amount of time at each spot.

I hired Jamie directly through his website apathlessknown.com for a trip to Bullers of Buchan so I can see puffins and take photos. I wired him money from the states a while back to reserve the date. He picked me up at where I’m staying. It was a solo trip with him. FYI He does have a very nice van that can hold 7 people. Jamie is the most professional and kindest guide out there! So trustworthy and personable. So happy to find him! He will do what he can to make sure you get to see what you want (as much as nature cooperates!). Northeast Scotland - you can’t go wrong. You won’t be sorry!

It's been a couple of weeks since we finished our trip across Scotland and the Islay Island. From the conversations among our small group during the trip and afterwards, all while enjoying newly acquired bottles of whisky, the general consensus is that we would do it all over again tomorrow. WhiskyWheels showed us that they have an incredible ability to line up a wonderful itinerary, find the perfect drivers, and put us in hotels that are comfortable and full of character.Now that we're home, and the flavor of peety whiskys from Islay disappear from our memories, we are making purchases from the other regions of Scotland. The way it's going, there could be another tour request coming to show off the Speyside region. The "challenge" of smoke is at times, exactly what I'm looking for. But when I'm not, the Speyside smoothness makes drinking whisky super comfortable and relaxing.WhiskyWheels has a lot to show off to the world. Of course the whisky, but also the beautiful landscape, incredible history of churches and castles, as well as the amazingly friendly people. I hope WhiskyWheels and their network of drivers succeed in doing just that.

Jamie was great! We really missed him after our 3 tours with him. He did lots of extras as well, as I was post operative and he really had his hands full keeping me upright. 😆. He knew his stuff though and we always felt safe with his driving and expertise.

This 4 day trip was spectacular. 1 night in Oban and 2 nights on Islay. The recommended distilleries were all very enjoyable. Highly recommend Whiskywheels.

Pennon another jewel on the Murray Firth Sandsend quaint and vast beach. Roseisle forest another gem.

My friend Nancy and I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon Jamie’s tour company, A Path Less Known. He made an effort to look for a place for us on one of his tours on very short notice. The tour we took, “Aberdeen - Private Coastal Tour” - was simply marvelous. He shared stories of local history, flora, and fauna, as well as other interesting/amusing anecdotes. He was careful to ensure that the pacing of the day met everyone’s expectations and physical capabilities. We would highly recommend any tour that he might lead.

From beginning to end the service, knowledge, politeness and professionalism was exceptional. I had three divers over the 4 days responsible for different legs of the tour. Euon, the owner of Whiskywheels was day one and four,Sheena day two and three and Colin was there to meet me at the ferry terminal. The itinerary was full and well balanced on Isla. Lots of informative and beautiful Whisky Distilleries. Euon even actioned my conversation by taking me to see some Highland coos! Accommodation on Islay at Dha Urlar B&B was beautiful. The hosts were welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were so good. Sheena my wonderfully knowlegeable driver on Islay and herself an Islay taxi driver and resident of Islay seemed to know every Ileach. A great trip. Highly recommend Whiskywheels. Slainte.
