I absolutely loved this tour with Cretan Tasty Trails! I honestly wasn’t expecting quite so much food and drink, so it was a wonderful surprise we tasted so many lovely Cretan treats and local specialities along the way. Elena was such a lovely guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable and informative, but also warm, friendly and just a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. What I particularly loved was that this was my third time in Chania, yet Elena showed me a completely different side of the city and I learned so much. It was one of the highlights of my trip. I genuinely cannot recommend this tour highly enough. If you’re thinking about booking it, just do it, you really won’t regret it! ❤️🇬🇷

The best advice I can give you is to STOP READING and JUST BOOK the Veggera Experience! Trying to explain how wonderful the Kourakis Family is would be impossible. It is hosted on their family farm, and it was one of the most genuine and authentic experiences we have ever had.After spending an afternoon preparing food, eating, seeing all the farm animals, and enjoying their homemade wine we truly felt like family! It started raining on us so they even opened up the inside of their home so we could enjoy the rest of our meal. Almost everything comes from their farm!Seeing the animals, playing with kittens, and milking the goats were the highlight for my girls. Enjoying their homemade drinks, music, and dancing were my favorite and my wife left happy knowing her entire family felt so at home here.We feel like we need to return to Crete to spend more time with the Kourakis Family. They truly are wonderful and this experience is one of a kind! Book it and you won't be disappointed!

We booked this food tour on our first full day in Chania to get our "food bearings" and Meleni our guide did a great job in leading us to wonderful bites and tastes, and giving us a fulsome picture of the food culture of Crete. We ended up with a delicious lunch and lots of recommendations to further explore the delicious food of this historic island.

Food tour in Chania
We booked this food tour to get an overview of traditional Cretan food during our visit to the island of Crete. We met Christos, our guide, at a local landmark that was an easy ten minute walk from our hotel next to the harbor in Chania. There were six stops total where we tried a variety of different foods that are local to Crete. All of the places we stopped were locally owned, many dating back several generations of Cretan families. Christos was a great guide. We enjoyed his interaction with each person on the tour and not only learned about local Cretan cuisine, but also lots of cultural insight into Cretan current events and history with Crete. We definitely learned things we didn't know about the history of Crete, its entry into the EU, and its adoption of the Euro and how difficult it is for so many Cretans to make ends meet. Christos was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. Highly recommend this tour if you want a taste of Cretan cuisine and culture.

What a fantastic day! Started with mountain top coffee shop with a beautiful view. Fantastic dessert. Then to city for fabulous wine tasting. A real education and great wines. We then went to old towne for shopping and an incredible lunch with authentic Greek food. Nicholas our guide was one of the best we have ever had and looked after our every need. One suggestion, do not eat a big breakfast prior to the excursion as there is more food and beverage than we ever expected. Highly recommended!!!!

Wow, this was a wonderful tour! Marie Claire was such a wonderful guide! The meetup was easy. The walk thru Old Town Chania was so quaint and beautiful. The food was delicious at the restaurant for lunch. The beer selections were enjoyable and the tastings at the grocery store new and interesting. Marie Clair is so personable and fun. We highly recommend this tour!

We had a such a great time today. So much food and all delicious. Cretan Tasty Trails planned an incredible day let by Kostas. He really exposed us to great foods from local places as well as hidden gems we would have never found on our own. We ate like locals and learned the origins of many foods and the history of Chania and Greece.
