Top Agrigento Private Sightseeing Tours

My wife and I had a fantastic day trip to Agrigento and Villa Romana Del Casale with Eusebio, our funny informative and very helpful driver. Great car, and fantastic driving. He went above and beyond with his help solving a problem with our rental car. We can’t rate our day more highly. If you get a chance- take a tour with him!

Liz was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and fun! The temples were very cool to see, and the walking routes were easy.

Our guide Carmelida was great. Very knowledgeable and skilled. There was a small bit of confusion about the meeting point, due to road construction delays, but it was quickly resolved. Carmelida provided excellent information clearly explained and was friendly and helpful. Our only reservation was with the cost. This is no reflection on Carmelida who earned whatever portion came to her, many times over. There seem to be several levels of tour management between the purchaser and the final product, which likely accounts for the high price.

It's a long trip but you see a lot of what we looks like agriculturally and geographically. The car was very comfortable and her driver terrific.

This is literally just a pick up and drive to Agrigento (Valley of the Temples & Scala) from Palermo, so more than anything for this “experience” the driver matters since it was no less than 4 hours in the vehicle. You still need to book a guide or go about the Valley of the Temples on your own, if you choose. I’m not certain the high cost we paid for just driving to and from Agrigento from Palermo was “worth” it, BUT our driver, Andrea, was great. He was kind and knowledgeable when we asked questions about the areas we were driving through. He even stopped at a roadside area on the way home. and we got some yummy food. Negatives: Tried to pull up wifi like the experience advertised, in the car, and didn’t see anything to connect to, BUT I also didn’t ask. The only other thing, there was one bottle water per person in the car. It would have been nice to have a couple more included. Overall, drive was safe and Andrea was great.

A wonderful trip to Villa Romana.Roberto made sure we got a German speaking tour.In Caltagirono he took us to a ceramic workshop.He was a real asset.

Mimmo is by far the best most interesting and knowledge guide we ever have had on Any vacation. He will modify the tours any way you want and will go longer without looking at his watch. Mimmo is expert for All of Sicily. We spent 2 full days with him and truly felt like a friend vs a client. His English is Perfect along with a great sense of humor. He is a fantastic driver in his huge Beautiful new Mercedes Benz van. Roads are very narrow and winding. Don't even think about trying to drive yourself. Mimmo helps navigate to unique experiences, best photo stops, knows best restaurants away from tourists with local flavor Not tourist traps. If you go shopping he will advice you on if it is a good deal and make sure seller is honest. If you want to visit tiny villages to do family history he will assist you with locals which was the personalization of our tour we requested. It was amazing what archives he was able to assist with discovering! Mimmo will guide Any part of Sicily and does not have to be 2 days in row which is what we did and recommend. Mimmo is Perfecto!

If you do one tour in Sicily , make sure it this trip! The Roman Villa and Valley of the temples are really unique and showcase the complex history of Sicily. The Roman Villa is in a very good state considering the age and extremely well preserved. The tour is special because of the private Guide Mimmo's knowledge of these areas is quite extensive. He explained , in depth, the structure of the Villa, the purpose of the Mosaics , the history surrounding the region. We saw a few Bus tour groups moving quickly through whilst we still were being educated about individual rooms. Spending the day with Mimmo was a pleasant experience as well A native Sicilian with multiple languages and a GREAT sense of humour allowed us insights into the places we visited but also opened us up to the Sicilian culture , food , lifestyle as well. He answered all our questions in full and we came away after our week and a half holiday more the wiser simply because of this tour. Don't join the cattle .... I highly recommend this private tour.

Seeing the Valley all the temples will take you back in time to 500 BC! The temples mark the passage of time and of civilizations who conquered this area, but left behind such magnificent structures, bigger than the Greek Parthenon! Our tour guide was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, spoke English well, and never rushed us through the sites. We saw the catacombs, he explained to us how the Ancient Greeks transported the heavy boulders up to the highest peak and he came even prepared with a book that showed us what the temples must’ve look like at the height of their splendor. Wow! We highly recommend this tour!

Valley of the Temples was a remarkable and impressive historical sight and going with a guide made it even more interesting. Our guide (sorry, I do not remember her name) was wonderful. The depth of her knowledge gave us a better understanding of the temples: the times back then, the structures, the appearances/sizes and the differences between them. She also, shared her great knowledge on the various plants in the area. Thank you for the beautiful day!

The temple ruins were remarkable, but even more spectacular was the Piazza Armerina! The mosaic tiles were incredible. it’s one thing to see renditions of palaces in Hollywood films, but to actually stand looking at the remnants is a unique experience. It’s a bit of a long ride from Palermo but we’ll worth it.

Our guide, Sara Chiummo, was excellent. She is so knowledgeable about the history of this remarkably preserved- for its age- area, that dates back 2000 years. We spent two unhurried hours and it was well worth the cost. Sara also knew all about the plants and trees and once she knew we were interested, she pointed them out. She was happy to answer questions. We chose the 3 PM tour and as the sun set the full moon rose and the light was so beautiful. Then the lights on the temples came on. Che bella!
