Oxford Travel Guides (Updated October 2026)

We visited the castle with our family. Matilda, our tour guide, made the tour a truly wonderful experience. She brought the historical context and the different eras to life in a very vivid and engaging way. Her explanations were lively and peppered with all sorts of anecdotes and examples. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.

The cruise was great, we had beautiful weather which definitely helped! Russell was our guide and totally played on the vibe of the group. He asked if we just want to cruise and chat or if we wanted him to give us the tour, we opted for the tour! You can also order drinks for the tour from the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. I will be doing this tour again with friends and family.

100% excellent Maltilda was an excellent guide. ''any questions please '' at end of tour would have been nice as i had a few!!

Ross was so courteous and knowledgeable. Effortless learning in a glorious environment.

Hannah was a great guide! Really enjoyed the anecdotes and stories tying back to well known figures l.

Great tour! Andrew was a wonderful guide whose deep knowledge of the different tour stops really brought Oxford to life. Highly recommended!

Fun & informative tour of Oxford with interesting facts on history, Harry Potter & Magic thrown in along the way. Shaun was an excellent guide.

We thoroughly enjoyed our river cruise on a lovely, quiet electric boat, ably skippered and commentated by our friendly guide whose name I've forgotten. Even though we have been to Oxford many times and live nearby, we learnt a lot and found the commentary interesting (lots of history) and amusing, especially as our guide was previously a river manager and had lots of anecdotes to share. We recommend this trip.

Very informative and our guide Riccardo was very knowledgeable about the Uni as well as the local history.

This was a great tour. Leeann was our driver from London to Oxford and back and she did a wonderful job dealing with all the traffic. Valentino was our guide in Oxford. He was FANTASTIC! He was very knowledgeable, shared a variety of fun stories, and had an obvious love for Oxford. He was a great tour guide!

Our tour guide, Adeline was absolutely amazing! She was so energetic, funny, and engaging throughout the tour, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. She shared interesting stories and information in such a lively way that it never felt boring or like a typical guided tour. Her great energy and sense of humour really made the tour memorable. Highly recommended!

A very balanced Oxford University tour with bits of Harry Potter shooting locations. We enjoyed it very much and learnt a lot about the campus. Stefanie was a nice and funny guide.

Martin was a beyond excellent guide! It was obvious he had a passion for the area and knew it well. Almost any question we threw at him he was able to give a detailed answer, and his enthusiasm was contagious. The van was spacious and comfortable, the stops well selected, but Martin's charm and knowledge was the highlight. I would go again!

John was the perfect guide, being a native of Blockley with encyclopaedic knowledge of Father Brown! We were taken to key film locations where, at each spot, we were shown a photograph of a scene filmed exactly there and given an explanation of the scene and its place in the episode. We were also given an insight into the filming process itself. John even took a souvenir photo of us standing outside "St.Mary's" Church! A very informative and pleasant experience.

Very knowledgeable man and funny, he made it interesting, amazing memory excellent

Becca, our guide (please forgive if I don’t have her name correctly), was kind, attentive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was so fun to hear and share in stories of Tolkien and CS Lewis and where they experienced Oxford. We really heard about their friendship and their hearts. A wonderful walk and great way to spend an afternoon.
