Myself, my wife , and sons (18 and 16) spent the week with Dave touring Scotland. How can I sum this up??? Dave is the guy you always hoped showed up for your college party! Punctual, knowledgeable, accommodating and kept 2 teenage young men interested and laughing! We learned great history, presented in an absolutely fantastic mixture of intelligence and humor! Dave was very flexible and really "read the family"! He was part of it by the end of the week.... I would give Dave 6 stars out of 5. His rendition of "the rose" by Bette Midler and experience in rating bathroom facilities are unparalleled. We cried and were physically relieved simultaneously.... no need to search any further. He gave us great memories and more so, we have a great friend now!!! I hope he accepts our invitation to come visit! Don't look any further, this is where you start and end!!! Absolutely fantastic experience and memories!

My wife, myself, and sons (18 and 16) traveled with Dave for a week. How do I sum this up?? Dave is the guy who you always wanted at your college party except knowledgeable, totally meshes with the group, and just a great human! His history lessons mixed with an appropriate amount of humor kept two teenagers interested consistently!! That's a task in itself. He was punctual, prompt, and had such an amazing attitude.... he got us going and kept us going!!! Dave is a "classic rock" guide! We'd give him 6 out of 5 stars. Not only did he make us memories we'll never forget, we have, In turn, invited him to come visit us in Oklahoma. Don't waste your time vetting other Dave's! This is your guy. And, he does a great impression of "The Rose" by Bette Midler... do Dave! You won't be disappointed and you'll gain a great friend!!

Great time!
So glad we did this. I surprised my family with this unusual tour, not letting them know what was going to happen. Really though, even I didn’t really know what was going to happen. We had done other walking tours of Edinburgh and were a bit “walking toured” out but this one is so much better and fun and different....just book it! You’ll laugh and learn and laugh some more. Dave is hilariously funny and you get to see a lot of the old town. I’d recommend booking the tour early in your visit as it will give you a lay of the land and background of the city.

Great tour informative and funny
What can I say about Dave. If you go to Edinburgh without children I can not recommend this tour enough. Not only did we learn a lot about history we had a great laugh as well.
I could not believe how much ground we covered in 90 minutes, yet nothing felt rushed and hurried.
Yes there is a bit of bad language, but nothing worse than you hear on an episode of Peaky Blinders.
So if you are not easily offended and like a good joke and a good bit of banter, give this a go, you wont regret it.

The best tour guide that doesn’t talk like a tour guide
Dirty Dave is awesome! He came recommended by another family
Member that has used him twice. He is great at communication in the planning phase. He will do as little or as much of the planning as you want. He took our family of four (two older teenage boys) around for six days and it was a riot. He manages to make history fun so even the boys listened and laughed. He is not your routine boring history lesson guide but if you want someone that will make it fun, knows every bathroom in Scotland and can prepare you with a 1-5 star rating of the facilities, drives like a boss, and will constantly throw in humor to his history lesson then he is your guy!

Amazing Experience

Fun for the Entire Family!!
Our family of four really enjoyed this day tour!! The day was very thoughtfully planned out, including meals and bathroom breaks just when they were needed. Travels with Dave
Dave was excellent. He worked with us to come up with a travel plan. We went from Dunkeld to Oban, across to Mull and Iona and back to Edinburgh. We stopped at all the sites we wanted to see and Dave added on a few more that added to the experience.Dave’s partner Lieke was with us and she was equally warm and inviting. They provided a historical review of the sites and guided us as to where we should go. It provided us with lots of time on our own. The hotels Dave chose were very good.

Dave is a true professional (don't let him fool you). In every possible way: planning, communication, flexibility, demeanor, Dave was exactly the person I would want as our Scotland guide. Perhaps one of Dave's most underrated (unheralded?) qualities was his driving skill - safe and in total control on every scenario on some dicey Highlands back roads. Scotland Private tour With Dave!
We hired Dave as a private guide and driver for 8 days. We started in Edinburgh on our own for 2 days and then he picked us up from the flat we rented and off we went. Dave was very entertaining, kept us laughing and we felt safe. It was me, my daughter and two of my friends. We went from Stirling, to Glencoe and stayed at the Glengarry Hotel first for 2 nights. He would drop us off each night and pick us back up in the morning. He always helped us with our bags and opening the van doors each time we were getting in or out. We also headed to Isle of Skye, Isle of Harris and Lewis, Inverness and Pitlochry, then dropped back off at EDI. We loved the stories and folk tales. He never rushed us and we were able to change things up if we ever needed. I would highly recommend using Dave and everyone in our party was glad we hired him!!
