This has to be the best food tour in Berlin! Chef Karl takes you on a tour of his locality, brimming with stories of his family as well as local and national history. Then he serves a delicious meal in the intimate setting of his apartment, including home-cured meats and lovingly prepared German-inspired dishes. He's a fascinating host, with many tales, travels and experiences to relate, and you'll leave very satisfied on all counts!

Okay, WOW. You really can't go wrong with Chef Karl! By far the best food tour in Berlin I've been on (as a local who regularly takes visiting friends and family on food tours). Karl is friendly, entertaining and made us such an incredible meal, my parents and I are still talking about it! It was definitely the highlight of their visit to Berlin. The tour starts with a small tour of Karl's local neighbourhood then you go to his apartment for a 4-course home-cooked meal that was truly amazing. I really can't recommend this tour enough!

We chose the evening Electric Menu. We received a salad/ appetizer, a main meal and desert. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice. It took them a bit to figure out what we owed additionally, but it was all good.

I moved to Berlin nearly a year ago and I wanted to know more about the underground scene of Berlin and its street food culture. Our tour guide, Violeta, showed us around and gave us many tips to continue enjoying the food culture in this wonderful city. I am grateful that I decided to book this tour and I highly recommend it.

Chef Karl took us on an interesting tour of East Berlin, areas that we would have never seen in typical tours. He was an excellent story-teller, some of which were true! The food was excellent, but don't make the mistake of arriving too hungry--we walked for over an hour before eating, so plan for eating late. The wine was excellent. Also, most of the food he prepared was not German, ie a fantastic chicken mole, but this was fine by me since I do not like most German food. :)

We really loved how personal this culinary journey felt. Chef Karl explained the background of the area and his life in Berlin in a very engaging way. The dinner was outstanding, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. Each course felt special and thoughtfully prepared. The relaxed home atmosphere made it easy to enjoy the food and talk with other guests. This is a must-do for anyone who enjoys good food and meaningful experiences.

An excellent meal (starter and main) at a very fair price, to which I then added drinks. I was greeted and very well looked after by the Spanish waitress, Marianne.

This was our second tour with Tiago and he goes way above and beyond expectations. It was great fun. We have done this tour with different age groups and everyone loved it.

Holger was an amazing guide. He was able to seamlessly make the connection between the delicious street food we were eating to the history of Berlin. We walked away with a much richer understanding why certain cuisines, buildings, and night life are in particular area based on Berlin’s history starting in the 1800s. He was extremely personable and observing so that both me and my wife were taken care of. He was also not in any hurry to end the tour. We actually went over by an hour and a half because we were having so much fun. Excellent tour, however, I would say it may be slightly overpriced. The other factor to consider is the walking. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes as there is more walking than what we imagined. All things considered, I still highly recommend this tour with Holger!

We were here twice. There is a separate gluten-free menu. The gluten-free burger was large and delicious. The service was quick and friendly. If this is the standard of all Hard Rock Cafes, I will visit another one when I take a city trip.
