We were met by Alan at the door. Alan is the master distiller and he immediately welcomed us and put us at ease. He gave us an overview of the distillery and was very knowledgeable. We had booked the gin flight tasting. Before it began we were met by our host Dan. Dan and Alan are partners in the business. Again Dan was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the distillery. His knowledge of the gins and ingredients were amazing and extremely informative and interesting. We had approx 10 gins. Indeed it was so good we took the optional upgrade which gave us the opportunity to taste several more. Would I recommend this tour. 100000% YES. It was fantastic and I don't say this lightly. It was incredibly informative, entertaining and really interesting. I learnt so much. Whilst we have done several gin tour this has been the best by far and all down to Dan and Alan, both great guys. We are booking again soon but this time to try our own distilling of our own gin which comes with a personalised label. See you soon guys

Spent a great afternoon at a Gin School Experience with the very knowledgeable, entertaining and helpful hosts Alan and Dan! Alongside an entertaining and lighthearted history lesson, a number of different gins were tasted then we made our own gins with ingredients chosen by ourselves. Well worth the visit for any of the experiences offered and a great way to support a local business.

We did the City of Aberdeen Distillery gin tasting experience last Thursday. It was a 4pm — 6pm session which was perfect. Two and a bit fascinating and wonderful hours thanks to the expertise of Dan and Allan. Totally opened my mind to what goes into creating a great gin. We were two amongst 16 from around the world enjoying this superb experience. Obviously it helps a lot if you like gin and little point if you are tee total. Starts and finishes with a large g&t with lots of small tasting samples you prepare individually. I want to try the gin school next. 😊👍

I can’t even tell you how amazing this class is! Even if you don’t like gin, this class is still amazing. It teaches you the deconstructed basics of gin and gives you some unique tastings. The staff (Don and Allen) are super knowledgeable and fun. 5+++ stars!!

One of the best things I have had the pleasure of booking. Dan & Alan are the perfect team and their passion shows. I had an absolute ball. The group was small and we all chatted and laughed. There was a good selection of things to purchase, especially for long haul travel. Thoroughly recommend

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time at the City of Aberdeen Distillery Gin School — it was such a fun, hands-on, and genuinely memorable experience.Dan and Alan were brilliant hosts: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They created a relaxed and welcoming environment while guiding us through the gin-making process with just the right balance of fun and detail.Lyla really enjoyed choosing all of her botanicals and crafting a flavour profile that was totally her own, while I was fascinated by the technical side of distilling and loved getting hands-on with the equipment — especially when it came to bottling our own creations!Lads, we will be back, very soon.We left with two completely unique gins, some new knowledge, and big smiles on our faces. Couldn’t recommend it more — it’s an ideal day out whether you’re a gin enthusiast or just looking for something a bit different to do in Aberdeen.

A superb experience! Alan and David were fantastic hosts - entertaining, knowledgable and super friendly. You learn all about the gin making process, the history, ingredients etc. A hundred or more botanicals to sample and use in your own gin. You use your own little still, weigh your choice of botanicals and bottle and label your gin. There were lots of gin and tonics provided and samples of all the gins they make. Thoroughly recommend!

We found ourselves in Aberdeen on a cold and rainy day so our plans to stroll around town were a bit foiled. We decided to check out the distillery and as luck would have it we stumbled in just before a gin making class was about to start. I was a little leery about the price but I’m glad that didn’t stop me - it was WELL worth it.Alan and Dan are personable, hospitable, funny and knowledgeable. The three hour class moved quickly and efficiently and it seemed like we were never not sipping some of their awesome gin. We got to pick out our own flavors for the gin we were to make, and then watch our little personal still create it. It was all lots of fun and we wound up leaving with our own bottles of gin.Thanks Alan and Dan for an awesome experience!

We had an amazing time. We learned a great deal about gin from Allan and Don, and we even got to make our own gin from scratch with assistance from Allan and Don. They had over 100 botanicals from which to choose and the owners assisted with how flavors might mix. A great way to spend the day.

Hands Down my husband and I had the best time. First of all the gin they make is amazing. I didn't know much about gin but I came out of the experience feeling like I know quite a bit! With the owners guidance they helped us make our own gin and it turned out awesome! Such a fun and unique experience by far the best thing we did in Aberdeen!
