Syracuse Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Our tour guide Francesco was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the town and answered any questions we had. We communicated through Whatsapp which was very easy. He picked us up at our accommodation then dropped us off where ever we wanted.

What a fabulous way to see a lot of the City .Francesco was brilliant- very friendly, provided lots of interesting information about the various locations we visited. We got to see Ortegia ,Siracuse City and the Archeological Parks( 3 hour tour)....and we had time to look at the main attractions.

All the wineries were definitely worth the visit. The food was amazing and our driver was great and so courteous and kind. It was a great tour and I would definitely recommend

Santo was great. He texted us a picture of where to meet him inside the airport and met us there by the baggage claim. We had no issues at all.

Transfer was good and timely. At the time of the booking there permit to pickup at the ship had not been approved so we had to walk to the Gate. Most important part, was they were prompt, reliable, and good communication

Our tour guide Francesco was phenomenal. He was so very knowledgeable and made our tour so enjoyable. His witty humor and passion for the history and monuments in Siracusa and Ortigia were evident. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to better understand and appreciate this beautiful Sicilian city.

The itinerary allows you to see all of Ortigia well. The explanations summarize the places well without being tiresome. It took me 6 hours to complete, admittedly with detours in the alleys, lunch, and two visits. It also provides good addresses, obviously known to the guide, to treat your taste buds. I advise doing it in the indicated direction in order to take advantage of the fish market open in the morning. Unfortunately for me, I had not seen on the page that there was a bonus second itinerary including the city of Syracuse and Neapolis where I rented an audio guide, even though the explanations on this one were just as complete, if not more so. Practically speaking, I found the guide very well made. No additional application to install. A button allows you to integrate the proposed itinerary into Google Maps and thus keep the navigator to have the guide's explanations or do additional searches with the itinerary in a floating window. In short, very good value for money, thanks to the designer!

I couldn't get a free tour and we opted for this option. Much better, you can go at your own pace and they explain everything very well.

Ayaman was polite, knowledgeable and courteous. Everything he did for my mother and I was focused on making our experience with Velorbike tours comfortable and enjoyable. His English was excellent and his enthusiasm to give the best tour was charming. We have been in Ortigia for a few days but in one hour, we learnt so much more about it. We would highly recommend.

Antonino (“Nino”) treats you even better than you expect to be treated! He is thoughtful, insightful, caring, and genuinely wants you to have a wonderful experience.We found Nino on the spur of the moment after a recommendation from a local guide, and it turned out to be perfect. We had a fantastic day visiting Mt. Etna and touring Siracusa with him. His knowledge, warmth, and personal attention made the entire day special.What really sets Nino apart is that he doesn’t treat you like a customer—he treats you like a friend. By the end of the day, that’s exactly how we felt.His English speaking is excellent and has a a very strong English vocabulary. If you’re looking for a driver and guide in Sicily, we couldn’t recommend Nino more highly!

By pure chance, my family and I met Nicolas in front of the ruins of the Temple of Apollo... we didn't want to take a guided tour... but he, a true Aretusean in love with his city and the history of his land... won us all over by showing us the most important monuments, telling us anecdotes, stories, and dwelling on myths and legends... an unmissable tour that ended on a sweet note.. We want to thank Nicolas for his kindness, empathy, and competence... furthermore, the velobike is a Fun as well as very windy 😂

Ricardo was absolutely fantastic - we learned more about volcanos and culture in an overload fashion. A complete gentleman with great English language shills.

We had a really great day on this tour and felt it was excellent value. Claudio was so knowledgeable and shared interesting insights about local life in Sicily, which made the experience much more enjoyable. He also gave us helpful guidance on what to visit in Ragusa, Noto, and Modica, and took us to an amazing chocolate place in Modica that we would never have found on our own. We had a last-minute change of driver, but Claudio handled everything very professionally and was excellent throughout. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area
