Stavanger Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Very windy day when we took off with Luna our guide and 4 others. Ride to the viewing areas was a bit rough with the choppy water but Luna (and the 80's pop music) made the time go quickly. Up close and personal views of the fjord, waterfalls, and Pulpit Rock made the bumpy ride well worth it.

It was amazing! Realy enjoy! Erlend & Balder (his border collie) wireless very gentle and atencious. Higly recomended trip!

Such a lovely hike and great company with Erland! Was able to book very last minute and it was no problem at all! And I loved having Baba the border collie join us for the hike!

We were in Norway with the AIDAnova and had booked spontaneously via GetYourGuide the day before. Meeting point, clothing, and briefing were problem-free. It was a fast-paced boat trip with a high fun factor through a great landscape. We saw seals, mussel farms, and Preikestolen from below and had a great photo stop at the impressive Whisky Falls. Super experience in great weather for the family with a nice guide who drove a few extra turns for us. The clothing is top-notch, keeping you warm and dry. The offered goggles should be worn given the driving speed. Not exactly cheap for 4 people, but a great experience if you are already there and cheaper than booking through AIDA.

Had a top experience with this organization. Very friendly, personal, and a good, convivial captain (Christopher). There were only two of us, but despite it not being very profitable for them with the current fuel prices, they let the tour go ahead and gave us a top private tour.

Been to Stavanger before but never seen the surrounding areas so this was a great way to experience the local beaches and scenery .An unexpected gem was the motor museum which I could have happily spent longer in .

Easy 5minute walk from ship. Very friendly staff. Small group tour. Speed boat tour into fjord. Captain was great talking about each stop. Beautiful scenery and you are able to get up close and drink from the waterfall! They made sure you got back to ship in time. I highly recommend this tour.

A fantastic trip that allowed us to see the key sites and learn a lot more about the local area and Norwegian history. Alphonse our guide was super knowledgable and friendly. Really great that we were also dropped in town at the end of the trip as it saved young legs. Would recommend this trip.

Our boat driver/guide, Christopher, was very personable. During the ride, we not only saw pulpit rock, but also saw the mountain goats, Bonnie and Clyde, saw waterfalls, and other sites that he pointed out. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had booked the trip while cruising to haugesund. Viking adventure was just 10 min walk from port. The instruction was clear and easy to follow. The office has seating area and toilets. The bus ride was comfortable. Alfons was very informative, engaging and has a good sense of humour.

It was very interesting and informative. The driver and guide were both really nice. The scenery was great and the lunch was delicious.

It is quite the hike which can be challenging at times but not impossible. It is all worth it, especially with an exceptional guide like Tore. He was very patient and very knowledgeable about not only the hike but also the whole fjord.

We had an incredible two days exploring Norway with Fjord Hikes, and both days ended up being highlights of our trip.On our first day, we did the challenging Kjerag hike with Kenny. He made us feel super safe throughout the hike while somehow turning the challenge into a lot of fun. We had lunch at a quiet hidden spot along the trail that only a few hikers know about, which made the experience even more special. Kenny is incredibly passionate about nature and world cultures, and made everyone in our small group of four feel included in every conversation. And most importantly, he believes in the existence of trolls, which we learned is apparently a very important part of Norwegian culture! 😂On our second day, my wife and I explored Månafossen with Alan and his wonderful dog, Balda. We left Stavanger at 7am, which was perfect as we had the magnificent waterfall almost entirely to ourselves. We continued through the peaceful landscape to the farmhouse before heading out for the Via Ferrata, which was A LOT OF FUN!!! Alan made us feel safe every step of the way, so we could simply enjoy the experience. He also has incredible knowledge about Norwegian culture and nature, and is genuinely passionate about traveling and exploring the world. It felt less like spending the day with a guide and more like exploring Norway with a fellow traveler.We finished the day at an amazing local farmers market, tasting some of the best local cheese and meat we’ve ever had.What really made Fjord Hikes special for us was the people. Both Kenny and Alan weren’t just knowledgeable guides, but genuinely interesting people who clearly love nature, travel, and sharing Norway with others. Two very different adventures, two fantastic guides, and easily some of our favorite memories from Norway. Highly recommended!
