Memorable Tour!
One word: wow! We're a young couple and we love to travel, mostly alone, but we occasionally take a tour. No one has ever lived up to this.
Our guide, Michael, was simply perfect: extremely kind, punctual, super friendly, funny and full of interesting things to tell us. He showed us places that aren't even listed in guidebooks and explained everything there was to know.
That's the added value of seeing places with a local.
This tour isn't just recommended: it's a must do!!

The excursion was great exceeded our expect actions. Best excursion of the whole trip. Conrad knows his history and knowledge of Cornwall. You can tell he loves it. The comfort of a private tour is the only way to go.

We very much enjoyed our all day tour. Driver Graham with Telstar Taxis (Telstar Travel Co.). gave us a custom tour of interesting tin mines, filming locations and pretty little villages. Delightful.

Exactly what you'd want in a private tour
I used Kernow for the convenience of doing a Cornwall/Tintagel tour from a Penzance hotel (at extra charge). And while not inexpensive I do say that it was well worth the added cost and feel it was money well spent. Our guide Michael couldn't have been more delightful over our long touring day and cheerfully catered to our slightly modified itinerary. Quite knowledgeable and a fun personality. Made for a splendid memorable day. The pictures of us he took are another very nice reason to use this service. Definitely recommend.

Tailored to perfection
We had a fantastic day exploring North Cornwall with Conrad. The tour was highly customised from start to finish, with great flexibility to adapt the route as the day unfolded. Conrad was excellent at helping us choose the best itinerary, taking into account our changing plans and making sure we got the most out of the day.His knowledge of Cornwall was outstanding. Whether it was the history, local culture, hidden gems or the best viewpoints, he always had something interesting to share. More importantly, he took the time to understand what we were most interested in and tailored the day around those interests, rather than following a fixed script.This was definitely not an off-the-shelf tour. It felt personal, flexible and designed specifically for us, which made the experience much more special and memorable. We would highly recommend Conrad to anyone looking for a truly bespoke way to explore Cornwall.

Great intro to western Cornwall
Our driver, Simon, was excellent in giving us a full day of Cornwall experiences and in maneuvering the narrow lanes that allowed us to get to places that large tour buses cannot get to—beautiful and peaceful places. Our only complaint is that we stood around for quite some time to meet up with him when he was there the whole time but in a vehicle that gave NO indication that it was connected to Meneage Tours. It would have been nice if we been told to look for Telstar instead, especially since I inquired twice ahead of time as to how to recognize our tour at the dock.

Absolutely Amazing!
After traveling around the world and doing a number of private tours this is by far the VERY BEST tour I have ever been on. His passion for detail and love of history and culture for Cornwall makes him one of a kind!

Highlight of our trip
This is the highlight of our trip! Conrad was recommended by friends and we could not agree more. He picked us up in St Mawes and delivered a day to remember. The history, culture and warmth of locals was on full display. St Ives was a bit of a disappointment but the majority of the trip was fabulous. I learned a huge amount from a former teacher - Conrad. I also appreciated not driving those narrow lanes but also he went out of his way to show us fascinating places in Cornwall. If you go, this is the only way to see it!

Tour of a lifetime/multi-generational
Conrad truly brought to life the amazing area of Cornwall. I traveled with my 80 year-old mother and my 15-year-old daughter, and that can really be a challenge to do multigenerational tours that we all find interesting. Conrad definitely found a way to cater to all of us at the same time. He is full of heart for his region and his culture, fun to be around, And really made our day in the port as full as it could be yet somehow we did not feel pushed Or rushed. He came up with an itinerary because I was not very familiar with the area, And it was absolutely amazing. Thank you, Conrad, And I will never forget riding in the van with the windows down, listening to Cornish music and breathing in the sunshine and fresh air. Truly magical.

A Fabulous and Unforgettable Experience
“The Best of the West” was a fabulous tour, and the high point on our two week visit to the UK and Ireland. In fact, this was the very best private tour my wife and I have ever been on. The owner, Conrad, was extremely accommodating of our travel schedule and worked with us to line up the very best tour possible based on our time and interests. Our tour guide and driver, Michael, was gracious, courteous, friendly, clear-spoken, and extremely knowledgeable of every nook and cranny in West Cornwall. He masterfully maneuvered our tour vehicle through all of the tight spots, and accompanied us to the awesome sights along the coast, explaining everything along the way. Starting in Penzance, Michael even took us to some places we thought we would not have time to see, including St. Buryan and St. Ives. What an incredible guide! Thank you, Conrad and Michael, for providing us with an unforgettable experience!

Fantastic Family Trip
After seeing the passionate reviews of Kernow Tours, and Conrad, I knew that I wanted him to lead our family, from the U.S, in a comprehensive tour of Cornwall. This was a special trip for our family as our surname is Cornish and I had heard the oral history of our family and wanted to see our ancestral homeland with my wife and two sons (18 and 20 years old).To make sure we could experience this with Conrad, I changed our whole itinerary to make it happen, and I am SO GLAD I did.Not only was Conrad the most enthusiastic, friendly, fun and knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had, but he did extra research to make sure our trip addressed our special interests, and went out of his way to tweak and emphasize the things we were most interested in on the day of the trip. We were entertained and taught about everything from the history, customs, food, plants, music, and modern slang of Cornwall. At the same time, we got to know Conrad and he got to know us, sharing laughs and stories.By the end of the day our family felt connected to Cornwall, the place where Conrad lives and which he loves.All of our family had a great tour and wonderful and memorable day. As we travelled through some of Cornwall’s most dramatic landscapes our tour guide(s) were buzzing with affection and appreciation for the historic sites, coastal communities, and rich mining heritage of their culture. Through animated conversation and multimedia approaches (loved the Sea Shanty tunes and yummy 😋 pasties) we were enthusiastically entertained and enlightened about SW Cornwall. Definitely seek out Kernow Tours. As they say around these parts “If you kernow, you know!”

KERNOW TOURS - SIMPLY THE BEST
Kernow Tours Cornwall
We rarely do reviews but feel compelled to in this instance. Initially we looked at doing a bus tour of Cornwall from London, but it was very expensive, so we looked for alternatives. Kernow Tours popped up and from our very first contact with Conrad we felt very confident that the tours we selected would deliver what we wanted.
Conrad offered several tours and we chose to do three, West, North and South Cornwall. Each tour took us to the major attractions but also into areas that a bus could never go and as a result we saw and learnt much more than we had anticipated. Conrad hosted 2 of the tours and Micheal the other. Both were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing Cornwall with us and were excellent guides with good humor. We were never hurried and nothing was a problem.
Ultimately, we saw much more of Cornwall at a price that was approximately 50% of our proposed bus trip, inclusive of travel, accommodation and meals. We would highly recommend Kernow Tours to anyone wanting to enjoy what Cornwall has to offer. Five Star Plus for us.

Outstanding full day tour of West Cornwall
My wife and I (we're roughly 65) had an outstanding private tour around the west end of Cornwall with our guide Conrad. He is both very convivial and extremely knowledgeable, and worked with us to customize a tour (based off of one of his regular small group tour itineraries) that was fine-tuned to our interests in history (including several local old churches, and a 5000 year old stone circle you can actually touch and experience (unlike a certain other equally old stone circle in England)) and spectacular scenery (such as Lands End, Cape Cornwall, and the dramatic Botallack mine sea-side ruins). We included a stop at the famous outdoor Minack Theatre (separate admission charged), which we would personally recommend, and where we were also able to have a quick lunch from a cafe with unsurpassed views of the cliffs and water below. I'd only add that although I'm quite comfortable with left-hand driving generally, the convenience of having a good local guide handle the navigation through the VERY narrow roads of West Cornwall cannot be overstated. Anyway, it would have been impossible to see all we did in our day with Conrad had we tried to do it ourselves -- even assuming we knew to go to all the other places that he also took us to along the way! Thank you, Conrad, for a great day in West Cornwall -- and we hope to be able to book with you next time to see some of the many other sights that we just didn't have time to do on our one day introduction to this special place!!!
