Southampton Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Brian was a wonderful guide. Incredibly warm and funny, with great local knowledge. He really brought the beautiful cathedral city of Winchester to life. We had a lovely little tour group as well. Thank you. 🙏🏻

Absolutely no issues. The hardest part was finding our driver in the line of private car hires. It would be helpful is he had a sign with our name on it, as the drivers are not allowed to leave their cars, so the passengers have to walk back and forth down the line asking each driver who they are there for. After we got in the van, everything was totally smooth.

Driver was eager to share his knowledge of the areas with us but did not force a conversation. Helped to load and unload the luggage to the SUV. Commented about places to go and places to stay away from in London.

Seb gave us in-depth historical information on every place we went on our tour. He had knowledge I would not have expected (why there are not many trees in the area), and was honest the few times he did not have an answer. We learned much more about Stonehenge than we expected, and I so appreciated Seb’s enthusiasm for the history of the area. Loved walking around the Avebury Circle; with Seb’s help, we were able to understand what it would have looked like thousands of years ago. Seb pointed out many other unique views on our trip: a chalk horse, Old Sarum, and even where Sting lives! He took us to a great farm restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Our last stop was the Salisbury Cathedral. Seb was not able to accompany us into the church, but he had already given us plenty of information about its history. We wanted to do an individual tour so that we could learn more about all these sites, and Seb truly delivered! I’d highly recommend his tours.

As Belgians and Luxembourgers, we realized that we know our British neighbors' history very, very poorly! Thanks to you, we discovered a rich part of it, all the more so because we understood your English perfectly well, perhaps because, being of Italian origin, you make it a point to speak it calmly and without an accent that is too pronounced like the local guides. We hope that we will be able to benefit from your extensive knowledge again during our return to Southampton in September 2027!

Excellent service from confirming the details of our trip the day before to good communication the day of the trip. Driver was very friendly, helpful and on time. Outstanding service!

Easy and friendly service! Super convenient trip from the port to Stonehenge, and then to Heathrow. Would highly recommend using this service!

We loved every minute of our tour with our wonderful and extremely knowledgeable guide, Gail. It consisted of an energetic two-hour trek through Winchester, learning as much as we could along the way, all of which was fascinating and some of which was very touching. Because Winchester is so steeped in history at every turn, Gail also gave us suggestions and tips for what to see and do next. It was a fabulous way to spend a couple of hours. Thank you, Gail!

Great way to explore a city self guided

An excellent tour and prompt drop off at the airport after the visit. It was an easy trip and took the stress off of day home travel

Simple low cost and easy to use. Great fun and useful unknown city

We visited The Gin Palace on Saturday for the gin tasting experience and had an absolutely amazing time. The whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The setting is brilliant, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and of course there was plenty of great gin to enjoy! It was a really enjoyable way to spend a few hours and we loved learning more about the different spirits and serves.A special mention to Vicky, our host, who was absolutely excellent. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and engaging, and really helped make the experience so enjoyable. Nothing felt rushed or overly formal, and she had a great way of making everyone feel involved and welcome. Her enthusiasm and personality really added to the experience. We’ve done quite a few drinks and gin experiences, and this was definitely one of the best. It’s the sort of experience where you leave having had a great time and already thinking about when you can come back!If you enjoy gin, I would definitely recommend booking the Gin Palace tasting. Fantastic experience, great atmosphere and an excellent host in Vicky. We loved it! 🍸🥂⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a fabulous walk along the sea wall to view the Lymington Nature Reserve. There was plenty to see, even though there weren't as many birds as previous weeks due to seasonality. It is conducted at a gentle pace with commentary from guides - do take binoculars!

Melanie was amazing! She knew exactly the best timing and way to provide us with the most time possible at Hampton Court Palace on our way to Heathrow. She took us to her favorite car park at the palace, where she waited as we spent about 2 1/2 hours touring the palace. I wish we could have had a little more time since there were some live demonstrations happening that day, but we had a flight to catch, so we followed Melanie's suggestions and saw much more of the palace than I would have thought we could in the limited time we had. It definitely helped that she got us there just as the palace opened to visitors for the day. She was there waiting when we returned to the car, and she delivered us to the right part of Heathrow in plenty of time for our flight. Not only was Melanie efficient in every way, she shared a wealth of information that will be priceless when we make a return trip to the area. We will definitely contact her before making that return trip.

Picked up on time even though our plane was two hours late. Excellent driver, helpful and friendly.

Abdullah picked us up at the cruise terminal in Southhampton. We stopped at Stonehenge, which was amazing. Our next stop was Windsor. Even though it was a Tuesday and the castle was closed, it was still worth seeing. The castle is beautiful and the town is charming, with many shops and restaurants. Abdullah gave us the time we needed to explore these landmark. He was very pleasant and professional, answering any questions we had. Highly recommend.
