South Dakota is a large, sparsely-populated state in the prairie Midwest. The State is bisected north to south by the Missouri River, with most of the state’s agricultural land and population in the area east of the river. Much of the land west of the river is occupied by Native American reservations, and Native American history and culture are top state attractions. Sioux Falls near the state’s eastern border is the largest city, while Rapid City in the west is the gateway to the Black Hills. This is where that state’s most famous attractions are found, including Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial at Thunderhead Mountain, and the Hot Springs Mammoth Site, the world’s largest mammoth research facility.

My XO Adventures is an experience you do not want to miss. We located them on the internet and could not have been more pleased with the communication and tours to The Badlands and the Black Hills of South Dakota during October. The guides were very knowledgeable. Daniel and David pointed out details and gave us background about the areas. We surely would have missed this information if we toured on our own. This was our first trip to SD and Neal was the perfect tour guide. He showed us SD in a nutshell, as we say it in the South (North Carolina). We saw Bison, Pronghorn, Big horn Sheep, deer, as well as the many sites that make this state a great place to visit. Neal was a great conversationist and knew his history well. Reasonable priced and a great way to spend a day. Make sure you ask Neal about Chislic, a SD delicacy.

Awesome view. With friendly crew! 100 percent enjoyed our very first ballon ride! Loved the hot chocolate for the cold day. And exceeded my expectations.

Simply amazing!! It was awesome seeing the view in person. Always seen Mt Rushmore on tv but never in person. Well worth the trip and the self guided walking audio tour gives you lots of information and you can do it in your own time. I would definitely do it again.

Great Tour, Breakfast was included. Pancakes,Sausage and bacon. Biscuits and gravy as well. Foos wa goos. Tour was amazing, we had Pastor Bill. He was so much fun, knowledgeable, and patient. We had an older group. He knew all the best places to see the most. I would definitely recommend this tour. Dinner was also good and loved the show, so much fun!!

The views were great! Launch and landing were gentle. All the people from pilots to chase crew were professional and on top of things. The explanation of the origin of ballooning was entertaining. A worthwhile bucket list trip for my mother_in-law, husband, and me.

We saw sooo much; took a bazillion pictures; immensely enjoyed our fantastic guide, Doug; ate a wonderful, included lunch and so much more.Our group traveled with two people who were using collapsible wheelchairs, had walkers with them, one of whom struggles with the steps onto the vehicle. Doug, our guide extraordinary, helped, encouraged and supported everyone so much.
