Welcome to Reno

Reno is a city in West-Central Nevada just a few miles east of the California state line. Near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and a gateway to the Lake Tahoe high country, Reno is an older, smaller version of Las Vegas, with a casino hotel strip dominating the downtown. Carson City, a historic California Immigrant Trail wagon train stop and 1859 silver rush town, is just to the south. Beyond the casinos, restaurants, and craft breweries, the Reno outdoors and the valleys, meadows, pine forests, and high desert country of the Sierra’s call visitors to activities like summer and winter off-road safaris, horseback riding, hiking and biking, rock climbing, river rafting, and exploring pioneer sites.
