Montpellier Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Our guide, David, was knowledgeable and congenial. The tour was well -planned and enjoyable, taking in the town market, character, history, architecture, and beautiful views. Learning about the town's tradition of waterborne jousting was fascinating. Highly recommended.

Montpellier by bike. We did the city centre but they have 8 different tours that you can choose from. Didier was such a terrific guide and looked after our group so well. He was so informative and pointed out so many wonderful and interesting sights. I hope to get back to Montpellier to do another bike trip with him.

Memorable page of history from 16e century until today. Excellent presentation, magnificent surroundings and collection of day to day. objects that lead to the modern world. I have enjoyed this visit, its garden as much as the guide.

David's tour of the Camargue was an excellent introduction to this beautiful region that is so rich in history, culture and animal/plant biodiversity. It was amazing how much we saw and learnt in just one day thanks to David's local intel. He is also a very caring guide who made a special detour to find us some good coffee and guarded our valuables while we swam. I will definitely be signing up for some of his other tours ...

It was great to have an insider tour of the chateau. You don’t get to see every room, because people still actually live in the house, but I felt that we saw plenty. It was a bit of a hike from the tram (about 20) minutes but worth it to me. It was too dang hot to stick around and wander the gardens this time, but I was happy that the tour pass for garden access is good for six months.

Good exercise and a good way to explore with electric bike. The roads are well built for bike. You do need to pay attention crossing the road. I saw Taurus, horses, flamingo. We always took small roads so you will see beautiful houses.

We booked this last minute and had a wonderful experience.We met our guide at an easy to find location, she was very friendly and it was clear to see she was passionate about Montpellier and it’s amazing history.The tour lasted just over an hour, we got to hear things about the famous sights that we wouldn’t have known if we had walked around by ourselves, even with a bit of Google research. Our guide showed us other little hidden details about the city that was so interesting and it gave us a real flavour of this brilliant city!We had plenty of opportunities to take photos of the famous sights, along with commentary in our own language (English).We can not recommend this experience enough, we were really excited to visit Montpellier and this complemented our visit 💯

Didier has an obvious passion for his city and its history. Very knowledgeable, very patient, great personality. Absolutely love the e-bikes. No effort required. A great day touring the city.

We did this tour as a family of 6. We didn’t have any experience riding an e-Bike before and the team helped us get comfortable with the bikes before we got started and even when we didn’t follow all the instructions, they were very patient with us. The sites and stops were very interesting and informative. There’s no way we could’ve gotten that much information on our own. Highly recommend!

A great tour, well organised and David, our guide, was very good at explaining some of the history and culture of the area. We saw lots of Flamingos, Ibis, Egrets, Herons, as well as other birds in the Parc Ornithologique and had some time to ourselves during the tour. The salt beds were an amazing sight too. Highly recommended!

Came today with my partner and friends, and the room was magnificent! To start, it's great! Thank you to the game master for their involvement and warm welcome; I can't wait to return!

Wonderful ride with Sebastian ( big thank you ) from Montpellier to the sea, along canals, around the lakes etc. Beautiful bird life. historical explanations , short stops till midway when you stop longer to visit the ancient cathedral at Domaine de Maguelone. Very enjoyable activity , highly recommend for those keen to be more active and see yet another side to Montpellier.

Fanastic bike tour so much distance travelled and so many great views and places to see in 3.5hrs highly recommended everyone must try it and tour guide amazing.
