Ula was lovely. She knew her information very well and was knowledgeable about the town, its origins, and the historical architecture. It gave us a good orientation of the town and areas of the island we may not have seen, even including the great Main Street with all its boutiques and cafes. At times she struggled a bit with English, but for the most part we understood everything. The tour can run long, so be careful with timing your next event!

From Schaffhausen to Stein am Rhein, the cruise lasts 2h05 and in the other direction (descent) 1h15, depending on the strength of the current. The upstream part is quite wild and there are colonies of swans and several species of ducks. The boat tacks between the stakes topped with green and white panels which delimit the navigable section. The highlight of the route is the passage under the Diessenhofen Laagbrücke where the roof of the boat must be lowered almost to the height of the passengers' heads. Guaranteed sensation.

Kirsten was a wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable guide for our very complete walking tour through the historic and charming island of Lindau. So much rich history and information was provided during this easy, nearly 2 hour stroll. Had such a great understanding of the creation and early times of the area thanks to Kirsten. We (one parent and two children) were able to efficiently explore the wonderful tourist attractions of Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The explanation in English by the driver and guide was very fulfilling, we were able to make wonderful memories. You could stroll for hours and discover the amazing corners, places and details. And our guide , an elder gentleman, was a living Wikipedia, he could answer all questions.

Mainau Island is a magical place, an excursion also suitable for families with children, we arrived by boat from Friedrichshafen, 1 1/2 hours of sailing on the beautiful Lake Constance (Bodensee), price €56.50 per person including admission to the island and the visit to the Baroque castle and the butterfly greenhouse. It is not a small amount of money but it is worth it. The garden is rich in inflorescences of all kinds with flowerbeds built with mastery and kept very well, in the park every corner is a surprise, colors, shapes, a life-size dinosaur. There is also a large play area for the little ones with many activities to do. The butterfly greenhouse will leave you breathless due to the quantity and beauty of these wonderful creatures with unique colors. There is also a small farm with domestic animals that you can approach and touch with your own hands. Wide selection of dining options, grill, self-service, cakes, etc. fair prices, very expensive drinks, bottles of water sold at a record price. Ice cream €2 per scoop, good. The walk in the park takes you at least 4/5 hours.

Truly a stunning garden, to be enjoyed on foot (bicycles are not allowed). For botany lovers, there is an endless variety of flowers and plants here, including beautiful sequoias, but everything is described in German, with few things in English.
