Our sunrise kayaking trip through the mangroves was absolutely beautiful! Diego was our guide, and he was wonderful from beginning to end. Being out on the water early in the morning and watching the sunrise while kayaking through the mangroves was such a peaceful experience.We saw so much wildlife along the way, including lots of flamingos, many different birds, and even a small crocodile! Seeing the flamingos out in their natural environment was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.The current on the way back was extremely strong, but Diego made sure we were safe and able to make it back. When I was having trouble paddling against the current, he even put me in his kayak and made sure I got back safely. I really appreciated how attentive and patient he was.Diego also brought snacks and water for us, which were definitely appreciated after all that paddling!The sunrise, mangroves, wildlife, and especially the flamingos made this an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Diego, for taking such great care of us and making sure we had such an amazing morning! 🌅🛶🦩🐊

The kayaking experience was truly amazing. The guide, Diego, was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the fauna and flora and ecosystem we visited. I was amazed by all the flamingos we saw and just by the experience as a whole. The early morning wake up was so worth it. If I could, I would do it again! Strongly recommend.

Amazing experience! Never kayaked before and everyone was patient with me thankfully lol, the tour guide was very insightful as well, highly recommend!

I’m not usually someone who writes reviews, but this experience was so exceptional that I couldn’t not write one.I booked the whale shark snorkeling tour through Cool Destinations with VIP Holbox only one day in advance, and everything was perfect from the very beginning. I received a confirmation on WhatsApp with clear information, guidelines, and everything I needed to know for the following day.When we arrived in the morning, we were welcomed with an amazing breakfast — fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, and more. They even had mosquito repellent available for us. I had taken other tours on the island, and the level of care and attention here was genuinely on another level.We sat down for breakfast together and met our guide, Edier (who kindly let us call him Eddie 😊). He was incredible. He explained everything clearly, answered every question in English, and made sure everyone understood what was happening throughout the day. If you’ve traveled around the island, you probably know that an “English tour” doesn’t always mean everything will actually be explained in English, so this made a huge difference.More importantly, you could tell that Eddie genuinely cared. He wanted us to have an amazing experience, but he was equally serious about keeping us safe and respecting and protecting the animals.Then came the actual tour. We found a group of whale sharks and got into the water in turns, with Eddie swimming alongside us and guiding us. It was absolutely surreal.This was also where you could really see the difference in professionalism between VIP Holbox and some of the other groups around us. We saw other boats putting many people into the water at the same time, which felt chaotic and potentially unsafe for both the swimmers and the animals. With VIP Holbox, everything was controlled and organized: only two of us entered the water at a time, and the next pair waited until they were back on the boat before entering.It might sound like a small detail, but when you’re actually there in the water with these incredible animals, it makes a huge difference. I felt safe the entire time, and it was clear that respecting the whale sharks was a real priority rather than just something they said in the briefing.Another detail I really appreciated was that Eddie brought his own GoPro into the water and filmed videos of us swimming with the whale sharks. At the end, we had the option to purchase the footage for a very reasonable price. This was amazing for me because I didn’t have an underwater camera, so I could just enjoy the experience and still come home with incredible videos from it.Our captain was fantastic as well, and the whole boat ride felt smooth and well managed. At one point, a couple in our group didn’t get a great view of the whale shark during their turn, so the team actually let them go in again to make sure they got the experience. That small gesture says a lot about how much they genuinely care about everyone having a great day.Afterward, we saw flamingos, had delicious ceviche, and eventually made our way back.I’m traveling solo, and I also came away from this experience having met wonderful people and made new friends, which made an already incredible day even more special.From beginning to end, this was thoughtful, professional, warm, and genuinely unforgettable. If you’re considering a whale shark tour in Holbox, I cannot recommend VIP Holbox — and especially Eddie and the crew — enough.Truly one of the highlights of my trip to Mexico. 🐋🤍

This was one of the most beautiful and incredible experience to have I loved it so much that I booked it twice. it is so magical the Stars above you will put you in complete awe of the universe and the bioluminescence water is like having the Galaxy in your hands. if you're lucky enough you will get Adrian as your guide he is incredible a 10 out of 10Fue una de las experiencias más hermosas e increíbles que he vivido; me gustó tanto que la reservé dos veces. Ive wanted to do this for a long time, SO glad I did. It greatly exceeded my expectations. Got to swim for a few minutes, side by side during both swims. The snorkeling after was nice. Lots of tropical fish, rays, and a nurse shark. The natural reserve beach stop after was pleasant. The freshly prepped ceviche was AWESOME!. When you book this tour, ask for Edie. Great guide, and a good dude. Thanks again amigo.

Excellent activity. Jesus is a nice and great instructor with the most gorgeous setting to practice paddle work. I am not a young person but it was great to learn a new water activity.

It is a wonderful, unique, and different experience. Our guide was knowledgeable in explaining how this natural phenomenon occurs.

The pick up was at 3 AM since it is seen better due to the zero lighting. It is totally worth it. The stars look wonderful. The only annoying thing is the mosquitoes.

We had a fantastic tour of the mangroves with Axel. It started with a peaceful morning paddle and watching the sun rise from the water, followed by sightings of flamingos, pelicans, ospreys, egrets, ibises, and so many other birds and fish. Axel is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who speaks excellent English, and we learned a lot about the mangrove ecosystem. We have some paddling experience, but it's totally doable for novices. It was a wonderful way to spend our last morning on Holbox. Highly recommended!

An incredible experience, I really recommend it to you a lot; it is a delight to see so many stars together, and the bioluminescence was incredible; from minute one the guide welcomes you in the best way and explains the natural phenomena very well. 100% recommended

My instructor was Jesus & let me tell ya . . . If Jesus can’t help you walk on water no one can . . . Jesus was very patient & personable. I was able to get up & paddle at 58 yrs of age with bad knees & a bad back so it was cool . . . I wanted to try it & saw this as low stakes with the water there to break your fall. . . Just make sure you’re in at least 3 to 4 feet of water so there’s enough depth that you don’t hit bottom when you inevitably fall :D

The staff was absolutely amazing and very informative. Thanks so much about the process from beginning and the different areas of Mexico, which was so great.
