Invergordon 2026 Calendar of Events

Watching the dogs work in the field with the sheep was amazing. Feeding the Highland cows was fun ! The castle tour was beautiful, the gardens and tapestry were amazing. We had a great lunch there also . The food was very good. We enjoyed spending time with our guide Fiona . She also worked with us to customize the tour based on our schedule, and must see locations !

Out of a 12-day cruise, THIS tour day was the absolute highlight of our trip. We had Cash as our tour guide, who made the 6 of us (family with a 2 and 4 year old, plus grandparents) immediately feel like family. To start with, Cash was the only tour guide from the various excursions we did in the UK who provided accurately sized car seats for both of my kids—a huge blessing and relief!The things we got to see and experience were absolutely magical, starting with the most incredible, personal sheepdog demonstration at a BEAUTIFUL local farm. The rain started when we got to the Stones of Clava Cairns, but Cash was prepared and surprised all of us with local Tunnocks sweets and snuck something stronger to make the best of the rain—a memory we will talk about forever. Cawdor Castle was amazing, but my family had to cut it short with a cranky 2 year old, but Cash was super accommodating and understanding. He made our kids feel so valued and involved the entire day!One of my personal highlights for this entire trip was when our view point was rained out, Cash adjusted the plan and took us to a local strawberry farm where we were able to get out and experience a market away from any and all tourists. We shopped local produce and goods and as I'm writing this review, we are sipping our first brew from Inverness Coffee co. that we got from the market. He helped us pick the best honey, black pudding, and goods to take home with us, plus took us to another shop where we were able to stock up on Tunnocks and sensibly-priced Scottish tartans and goods.If you're reading this review, I would suggest stop looking for the best tour and book with Macaulay Luxury Travel. They crafted the most memorable and incredible experience for our family and we cannot wait to one day come back and book through them again. Cash was accommodating for the kids, genuinely cared for our family, and all of us loved hearing about his family life as a farmer.Thank you, Emma and Cash, for what you do and for all you did for our family. We are so grateful to have experienced this trip with you!

Great tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was fantastic. Loch Ness was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful.

This was a wonderful excursion and we learned so much about the area. Ian was our tour guide and he was great. Very knowledgeable, but presented everything in a entertaining and informative way highly recommend this tour and guide.

This was a great tour and our guide, Tony, was the best. It was a private tour, just 3 of us, so he was able to make the tour personal. He showed us places that the big buses can't go. He treated us to Scottish treats, even a homemade one made by his mother! We all said this was our favorite tour because of Tony! Now we are hoping to go back someday and will definitely use Tony to show us other parts of beautiful Scotland!

An unforgettable day trip! Johnny was an absolutely brilliant guide - super welcoming, funny and highly knowledgeable. He made sure we saw tons of nice spots. Dunrobin Castle was great and the falconry show was very interesting and absolutely worth seeing. It was just an all-around great day trip. We would book again anytime !

We emailed and Andy answered right away. Very good at communicating with us! We couldn’t have been luckier to get him as our guide! Very educational and Andy let us do whatever we wanted. He picked us up on time and dropped us off on time. You can go wrong with this tour! Our favorite!

We had a bit of trouble identifying our guide, but once we got in the van, it was absolutely amazing! Dave was funny and knowledgeable, he showed us all of Scotland and made a lot of great recommendations. We would highly recommend this tour to others, especially if Dave is involved!

Johnny our tour guide was wonderful and very accommodating. The places he took us were great. We wanted to see highland cows so he took us to a place where we could get up close to them to get photos!

Tony was our driver. I have to say, I've taken quite a few excursions but this one is at the top of my list. Tony was very knowledgeable, not only about the locations we visited, but the history of the Highlands. He was flexible in going wherever we wanted. I was with three others, and we are unanimous in our opinion this was the best excursion we took in our visit to Scotland and Iceland. I would book this again in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and book this excursion.

Richie is a fabulous guide, excellent driver, and is also very funny. His van is very comfortable and easily accommodated our group of five. Richie was willing to adjust our tour locations (substituting the Macallan distillery instead of the castle) to suit the whisky lovers in the group. He provided excellent commentary at Loch Ness (and even provided a little stuffed Nessie to use in photos), the Culloden Battlefield, and Clava Cairns, and he took us to an amazing bakery to pick up lunch. It was a wonderful day!

A great full day from cruise ship. Driver was easy to locate at end of pier with marked sign. Comfortable seating. I loved the small group experience with ample time to explore cites and get a history review. Lots of great pictures to remember beautiful day. Weather was perfect. Rare, I guess!

We all had such a wonderful time. Susan provided such a pleasurable experience during our stop in Invergodon. She made sure that we saw all the must-stops and educated us along the way. Our time in Invergorden was by far our favorite excursion on this entire trip.
