Honfleur Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Visited beautiful sea towns around Le Havre/Normandy in France. Private day tour from the port cruise terminal during the cruise line stop there was absolutely worth it. The driver picked us up and dropped us off as scheduled. The drive through countryside was very pleasant and comfortable. Both towns, Honflue and Deauville were beyond charming. We had plenty of free time to freely roam around, have coffee and croissants at a small local cafe by the marina at the first stop and, then later at the second stop, had lunch at a nice local restaurant after relaxing leisurely walk exploring the shops and attractions on the way. The driver also managed to add a third stop at the magnificent church of Saint Therese in unscheduled town near by.

You feel very special on this trip. Everyone looks, waves, smiles 😊 it’s fabulous fun.A Very knowledgeable guide and interesting facts are shared. I had forgotten about the cider tasting, so that was a bonus.

This was such a great experience! From the beginning our guide Pierre was animated, funny and very knowledgeable. He clearly loves Honfleur and it came through in the stories and details of the tour. We took his advice and afterwards walked up a steep path to get La Chapelle de Grace, the view was definitely worth it. We highly recommend this tour.

What a great experience driving on the beautiful, clean, scenic roads of Normandy! Our guide, Nicolas, was easy-going and enthusiastic in his delivery (but not fake) of interesting history along the route. Some flowers were blooming - you could smell them from time to time. The Calvados farm produces in the authentic old style, so this felt very special! The bonus of the trip was all of the other tourists who were stopping to smile at us in our retro cycle set-up as we wove our way through Honfleur’s old stone streets. Highly recommend.

What a great service - arranged with Maria pre-arrival and delivered directly to the port within a few hundred metres of our cruise ship. Pierre was perfectly punctual for delivery and collection, giving helpful guidance about potential routes to take (Maria had also sent an electronic link to local routes). It’s a great option for a short visit to Honfleur beyond the walking options in the city centre. We even managed a visit to an organic cider & Calvados farm less than half an hour’s ride away!

Great service; the operator is very friendly and helpful. We asked for a small suitcase each, and we got them. Furthermore, the man gave us some tips and extra information about the towns we were going to explore by bike.

If you are a history buff or American patriot this tour is for you. Standing on Omaha Beach, visiting the American Cemetary and looking down the cliffs of Point de Luc really brings the sacrifice of those before us to the forefront. Ou guide Sophie was incredible, she had family here during the invasion and her insight was absolutely incredible!

Normandy had always been on our bucket list and booking with Normandy Private Tours was 100% the best decision we could have made to see Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. Laurence was so knowledgable and made hearing the history and stories about D-Day exceptionally moving and fascinating for all of us - even the non-history buffs in our family. Laurence was friendly and even bought us an American flag to take a picture with on Omaha Beach. Our visit to the American Cemetery was perfectly timed and Laurence shared incredible history as well as some of the traditions in the cemetery including making sure we heard taps play at 4 pm. The tour was the perfect fit for our family! Thank you Laurence!

Excellent tour and service. Very professional and accommodating

This one day (8 hour) tour generally focussed on the USA journey. It was excellent. There were 6 of us in a private mini bus. We were picked up from our private Air BnB accommodation. We had a great English speaking guide, 'Sophia', who had her own family connections to D Day which made it all the more genuine. She gave us great intel and was able to answer all of our questions. She planned the day well so we avoided the crowds and we covered a lot of ground in a very full on day. My only criticism was that there was some confusion over the start time. We originally booked it for 09:30 and then changed it to 08:30. Despite the paperwork recognising this, the message never got to the tour guide or driver so they came at 09:30. This left us anxious whilst we were waiting for them to arrive and resulted in me having to chase it up. All in all, it didn't spoil our day but, in terms of feedback - its worth double checking.

Honfleur private walking tour is a relaxed walk thru medieval times, the French Revolution, the creation of the city between two hills, the dawn of Impressionism, the churches, the maritime history, the alleyways and secret gardens - with a wonderful tour guide, and new friend. We had a great day with Anthony. He was a veritable font of knowledge. Picked us up in Honfleur at our hotel and off we went to St. Marie Eglise, the American cemetery, and Omaha Beach, with lunch at a diner-type place. All the while, Anthony is showing us maps and visuals and telling us stories. Really had a nice day. If we could wish anything, it was that we had more time at the cemetery. It was so beautiful and moving.

Pierre gave an interesting tour of beautiful Honfleur. Lots of interesting history and the bikes are fun and easy to use. Highly recommend
