Welcome to Greenville

Greenville is the third-largest urban area in South Carolina. This historic city was founded in the early 1800s on land along the Reedy River that was originally granted to early settler Richard Pearis around 1770 by the Cherokee. Greenville invites walking, biking, and Segway tours with a quaint main street, several craft breweries, and the riverside gardens and waterfalls of Falls Park on the Reedy. The Greenville County Museum of Art features works by Southern artists going back several centuries, and the Upcountry History Museum tells the story of Upstate South Carolina. For active fun, try rock climbing, bike rides in the countryside, and the trails among the lakes and hills of Paris Mountain State Park.
