Fayetteville Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

I just turned 70 and felt the need to prove I can still adventure! Omg this was awesome! All I can think about is where near my home can I do this again? I did BridgeWalk the day before this and it was terrifying to me- don’t need to do that again! But a totally different experience here. I wish I could give 10 stars!Our guides were Skylee M, Heidi P, and Steph H. I can’t think of any criticism of them. They were charming, fun, and I felt safe under their care.What an experience! I will treasure forever.

We had a great time with our guide Courtney. She was very knowledgeable about water sports, the area, and the history of the area. We really enjoyed our time on the water with her. When we were done we realized we had a flat tire while on the water. Courtney ask a few local if they had a tire pump, and one nice lady had a small emergency tire pump. We got tire pumped up and made it back to Walmart in Fayetteville to get it fixed. Courtney is the greatest and I would recommend everyone to ask for her, not only a great water sport guide but a fantastic person.

Cool Destinations for some reason pi is the address in Fayetteville, WV but its really in Lansing, WV. Had to call the company and got me going in the right direction. Adventures of the Gorge staff were all amazing! Friendly and down to earth and very professional with safety being of #1 importance!! Highly recommend

The self guided tour was great. We learned things while driving from place to place. We got to really experience the area with this tour.

Austin was awesome! The water was ponding over the falls and she knew just where to go to get us close for some great views. Highly recommend!

Along with 4 longtime friends from school, we planned a little trip to Fayetteville to see the fabulous New River Gorge bridge, hoping for peak leaf color. Fayetteville is a friendly, clean, and very busy town. We really enjoyed the walking ghost tour with Kaitlin, and definitely give her 5/5 stars for her knowledge and entertainment. Her costume and makeup, especially her 👀 were fabulous!

Easy check-in process! We got fitted for our harnesses and immediately boarded the bus. The guides thoroughly explained what to avoid so we wouldn't get stuck or hurt. This is a hands-free zip line where the guides handle all the hooking and unhooking for you. There is also an automated braking system at the end of each line, which was great. Lighter riders need to tuck into a cannonball position to maintain enough speed to reach the platforms. We did about 12 zip lines in total, all connected by platforms, some stairs, and some short walking paths between the lines. The best part is that you get to race each other side by side! The last two lines were definitely my favorite—flying across the mountain valley at speeds up to 65 mph! Time absolutely flew by. Highly recommend!

The zip line course was a fantastic experience! The views were beautiful, and the entire adventure was both exciting and well organized.Our guides—Nessa, Marissa, and Ryan—were friendly, professional, and made safety their top priority while keeping the experience fun and enjoyable.This is a great activity for the whole family and one we would definitely recommend

Kaitlin gave us an excellent tour and also included many historical facts that were so interesting! It made me want to learn more about Fayetteville! It’s a fun tour for families. My two grandchildren, ages 12 & 11 loved it too!

Totally worth it. Great way to learn some history about the town and she kept the stories very engaging!

This was a great experience never having zip lined before with a decent amount of initial trepidation about flying through the air at maybe 100 ft and 60 mph. The staff was patient with our group of nine and made everyone feel comfortable and at ease and everyone had fun. I think if everyone in our group had done this before it would have been maybe more fun because everyone seemed a little nervous about flying through the air on a zip line for the first time.Everyone should do this if they can because its overcoming fear fundamentally. And when you’re done you kind of feel silly about all the initial fear.
