Welcome to Fayetteville

Fayetteville West Virginia is a tiny Blue Ridge Mountain town first founded shortly after the Revolutionary War. Once a farming and coal mining town, now a tourist destination, Fayetteville is a gateway to recreation in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. The town’s historic district centers on the 1895 Fayette County Courthouse and offers many dining and shopping options. The New River Gorge Bridge, 876 feet high, is the longest single-span arch bridge in the western hemisphere. The river is known for good fishing and the east’s best whitewater rafting, while the surrounding hills invite hikers, bikers, off-road vehicle riders, zip-line thrill seekers, rock climbers and other outdoor sports enthusiasts.
