Must-visit
The visit was wonderful. You shouldn't leave Cuenca without doing this visit. And with Stefano as a guide, it was great, friendly, approachable, and super educational.

Learning to know the stones
The excursion has the perfect route and duration. The guide, Estéfano, was without a doubt the soul of this excursion, due to his extensive knowledge, great sense of humor, and way of interacting with the group. A total success!

Jumping in Zipline with Unique Views of Cuencamalky11, Jul 2026
Amazing experience
What a truly amazing experience. I am 66 years old with a fear of heights. This is a double zip wire and my wife suggested giving it a go together. Fair to say I was apprehensive. The team are fantastic. Special mention to Christian who was so reassuring and put me at ease. Never once did I feel any pressure whatsoever to commit to the ride but am so so very glad I did. Genuinely, after just a few seconds, I felt totally at ease on the zip wire and found myself with my arms out enjoying the ride and, of course, the views. Never to old to overcome fears and try something new. Absolutely recommend.

Guided visit Medieval Cuenca
Ángela took us through the tour with great involvement and a lot of sense of humor, always looking for a little corner of cool shade. She not only spoke about the strictly historical profile but also about the current situation of the region and a few curiosities. Always attentive to the questions even being a large group. It was great.

A friendly guide who spoke Spanish.
A good experience. Since we were the only ones who had booked for the cathedral, we started a bit earlier and had a private tour of it. A friendly guide who spoke very quickly, but it was okay. Headphones would be a plus.

Medieval Basin Night Guided TourMarcusHurley, Jun 2026
Fabulous tour, entertaining guide
We'd booked a night time tour of the city which was only available in Spanish unfortunately. It was the first proper test of my Apple Airpods translate function so it could be interesting and they actually performed well, as long as I was stood close to the guide and looking at him. There were some inaccuracies and glitches but overall it I could get the context of everything Pedro said and I think for 1 on 1 conversations it would be excellent.
The tour started with one of the Miradors overlooking the city and bridge and Pedro gave us an overview of the history of the city, from its Islamic foundations to the nineteenth century. The city was captured by the Christians in 1177 and then underwent various battles due to civil war and succession wars until the King ordered the destruction of the castle at the tip of the ridge. The city walls enclosing the city became a problem for the growing population so people started to dig their houses into the rock or expand them upwards or even build them over the roads, converting the streets into enclosed passageways. A lot of the houses have now been demolished or collapsed but the ones that are left are being preserved.
We continued down through the streets that we'd walked up (it's a very narrow ridgeline so only 3 streets wide), past St Pedro's Church (the third incarnation on the same site) and eventually reached the site of the ruined bell tower that collapsed in 1910, apparently due to the demolition work on the old bridge. I couldn't work out the entire history of the cathedral but it was the first true Gothic cathedral in Spain then was remodelled as a baroque façade and then this in turn was replaced with the current neo gothic façade in the 1930s maybe but never finished due to lack of money. It is the only cathedral in Spain with abstract stained glass, other than Sagrida Familia which probably still isn't finished.
The stars of the city are the hanging houses and we viewed them from a mirador but they were unlit and it was gone 10PM by then so it was difficult to see much. We finished the tour at the bridge of doom and saw the hanging house just above the bridge, which was actually illuminated. An interesting tour and entertaining guide.

Excursion to the Enchanted City from Cuencadebbiking, May 2026
Amazing place and English-speaking guide
The Ciudad Encantada is an amazing place and I thoroughly recommend going there. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and, crucially, he spoke English ( he used both Spanish and English throughout the tour), unlike many of the other tours here that I looked at where the only language spoken was Spanish. It would be great to be able to come here for longer and do some proper hiking but I guess the only way to do that is with your own car.

A necessary visit to get to know the historic center of Cuenca well.
An essential visit to discover the many things in Cuenca that are not visible at first glance, such as the "skyscrapers" and other points of interest. The cathedral is sensational; one cannot miss this marvel, but it requires additional time after the guided tour. The guide, David, was very interested and committed to his city, phenomenal.

The passion and enjoyment of a morning in the Enchanted City.
Well, well, well... what can I say...
It had been a while since I enjoyed a guided tour so much.
I went with my aunt Mercedes, and Pablo treated us so well that we both left delighted with the morning we spent. Unmatched attention and such an enjoyable visit that, despite the slower pace my aunt and I had, it flew by.
We are very grateful for their attention and professionalism and for the amount of information and curiosities we learned during the tours.
Without a doubt, if I had to recommend a guide, I would highly recommend him to everyone.
A man with such genuine naturalness and kindness that it touches the soul and truly makes you appreciate what a close and kind treatment is.
Thank you for everything, from the heart.
