Welcome to Buffalo

Buffalo New York sits on the U.S./Canadian border along the Niagara River that joins Lake Erie with Lake Ontario. Buffalo was an important industrial city in the early 19th century, one of the first American cities to benefit from hydroelectric power and a major shipping and rail hub at the western terminus of the Erie Canal. Now the revitalized city is a gateway to Niagara Falls 16 miles north, and launch point for tours that take in the falls from the U.S. and Canadian sides of the border. It’s fun to see the acclaimed city architecture by double-decker bus, take a bike tour into the industrial past, visit wineries, and sample delicious chicken wings and craft beers in the city where the Buffalo wing was invented.
