Rocky Mountain National Park Guided Small Group TourHervey2, Sep 2026
Extensive Rockies tour in comfortable van
Full day of visiting interesting places around the Colorado rockies. Lovely lunch provided, and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. We went up to 13,000 ft I believe. Walked around a small lake and saw lots of wildlife, was value for money. Nice way to fill in a day.

Rocky Mountain National Park
Brennon ,our tour guide was great! Highly recommend this tour. Be aware that weather can change depending where you are in the park and bring cloths accordingly. It was very cool and windy at the top visitor center.

Rejuvenating morning on Ciara’s tour
This was a wonderful experience, a fantastic introduction to the beauty of Boulder. We have been on other guided hikes and this one stood apart. Ciara took a very thoughtful approach, tailoring the hike, yoga, and guided meditation to fit our family. We loved the experience — it was rejuvenating and a great start to our visit to Boulder. We highly recommend and we would definitely sign up with Ciara again.

Thanks to Hans
Trip was great. Was confused that Cool Destinations was different than Cool Destinations. Picnic lunch was great, but tripdirector Hans, was the strength of the tour.

Great Park Tour!
My husband, brother-in-law and I attended the Tour the West “Rocky Mountain National Park” tour on August 15th. We had an amazing experience! Originally there were four additional people signed up to take the tour. But the others cancelled at the last minute. Even though we were a small group, Tour the West continued with the tour.
Our guide was super accommodating. We stopped in Estes Park for a breakfast snack, drinks and a bathroom break enroute to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We ordered our lunch food in advance of the tour so we knew we would have a nice lunch!! (We did not know that Tour the West would provide even a tablecloth on our picnic table.) Our guide provided interesting information about the general area in addition to the park .Since he grew up in the area, he was able to provide detailed information about the region in general and his personal experiences. Each person was provided binoculars for enhanced viewing of the terrain and wildlife. In addition, he had a high-resolution camera that captured videos of the wildlife we observed. Subsequently, he sent us a copy of the video. On our return to our hotel in Boulder, he stopped at the renowned Stanley Hotel in Estes Park for us to experience. (The Stanley Hotel is where Stephen King experienced a nightmare that inspired the novel The Shining.)
We had a great experience and would recommend taking any of the Tour the West excursions in the future!!Carol B. & Jeff Y.

Great way to get to know the campus
I went to Boulder to engage in some outdoor activities and to get to know the town. Since the campus is central to Boulder, I wanted to start there. I’m also interested in how universities are developing so you can see why this option interested me. It didn’t disappoint. With my student guide Nelson’s help I got to see all corners of their beautiful campus, explore the buildings and hear his take on being a student there. For me, in the end it was extremely useful to have someone attentive to my interests who knew what they were doing and who was a pleasant hang.

Great audio guide!
We really enjoyed this audio guide as we drove thru Rocky Mountain National Park. It was interesting to hear fun facts as we drove and to be informed when there might be sightings of animals. The heads up as to when a good place to pull over to take photos was very helpful as well. The guide worked exactly as explained when you purchased it and the instructions for an easy download was appreciated.

The trail goes between...
The trail goes between each starting point. There is no short cut to get back to the chosen starting point, the fastest way is to go back on the same route. If we realized that, we would have reversed our route starting point. We didn’t want to go through the trail twice.
