We initially looked for a physical guide, but couldn’t find one to suit our availability, so went for the audio guide as second choice. What a great revelation. The App used GPS to trigger comments for the local and very well informed guide. This meant you could move at your own pace, stop for a look at a shop or even take a coffee mid-way through the tour. Devon, who voices the guide was informative, humourous and a local, which added to the experience. First time we’ve tried an audio walking guide and would seriously consider using one again. It was inexpensive and highly recommended for anyone wanting to hear about Whitby from an enthusiastic resident.

This is a fantastic way to explore Durham.We booked at the last minute and I was looking at tours online and found this and it was just a few pounds to download so we tried this and it’s fantastic.We downloaded the tour to our phones and just walked the tour at our own pace listening to- able to stop and start as well as check photos to see we were in the right place.The content was excellent and we followed the route easily - such a brilliant idea and we would look for this provider if they do other areas. Fantastic and amazing value versus traditional tours.

I had a brilliant time on the Yorkshire Dales tour yesterday with Dave driving the bus. Despite being the only person on the tour who wasn’t there because of All Creatures Great and Small, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip and the beautiful scenery.A huge thank you to Dave and the rest of the passengers for their kindness and assistance throughout the day. As someone who is partially sighted and currently managing a knee injury, I really appreciated the support and consideration shown to me.The experience was so enjoyable that I’ve now gone back to start watching All Creatures Great and Small as well!Thanks again for such a lovely day out — highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this tour we did it on the evening so was lovely to explore the the town by night. Really good and informative.

Great tour. Devon’s Local knowledge was informative with lots of fun stories relating to folklore and legend. Particularly enjoyed his memories of his childhood and how parents could conjure up scary tales to excite children’s imaginations. Full of snippets of historical and cultural info about Whitby, however, not overbearing so kept us interested.GPS worked amazingly well. Kept you on the right path and will notify you if you veer off in the wrong direction. Explored areas we otherwise may have missed.Took us just over an hour, however you could have a coffee stop or lunch and then carry on. Great way to avoid group tours and explore at your own pace.Co-incidentally, Devons partner passed us as we were listening to the tour. Nod to her as it added a bit of quirkinesses and authenticity to the storyteller.Thoroughly recommend for all age groups, adults and children alike.Easy to download and you have it for life so could return to it in future visits. 😀👍

lovely tour around durham great to see all the sights

This was a really special day with Mark driving us through the Yorkshire Dales.9am and we left the lakes and headed for the dales.Mark knew every nook and cranny of the dales and proceeded to present our day with information and humour.We visited villages,some with markets and some with places where tv filming had gone ahead from All Creatures Great and Small.We saw viaducts including Ribblehead,and because of road closures,we visited alternate places of interest.Eventually we visited he Wensleydale Creamery and took advantage of the cheese tasting,leading to purchases such as butter ,cheeses,and chocolate.We visited Bolton Castle for lunch.Eventually,the day ended at 5.15 pm back at Windermere.Thanks Mark.

If you get a chance to take this tour, do it and go with Barry! He’s a fantastic tour guide—full of knowledge, charisma, and great tips and tricks for getting the most out of your tour. We learned a ton about the history, the landscape, wild life, All Creatures fun facts and more.

Would highly recommend this tour. We had a fab time doing this with our two dogs. It really made a wet gloomy day so much more fun. Super easy to set up and follow.

Listen and Enjoy! Loved it! It was great to stop and start when I wanted. I veered off the tour for a bit to look at something else along the way and then simply took up where I left off! Lots of great information I shared with locals who are keen to do the tour! Excellent way to begin a visit to Whitby! This would be great for all the small townships around Whitby!

This guide is worth every penny. A fabulous informative guide to Durham Cathedral and its history both ancient and modern. The guide includes a map and photos of the stops making each artifact easy to find. Absolutely essential if you are visiting this spectacular cathedral. If I was looking to pick fault the only disappointment was that the guide speaker is American instead of British.
