Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience. Went with an older friend and our captain made sure she got in and out of the balloon basket easily and safely. Our Captain, Vytautas Samarinas, was fantastic. His confidence and experience made you feel safe, which made the flight more enjoyable. It was worth the price. Especially, since pickup and drop off were included.

This was my second hot air balloon flight and our pilot ( Smile Balloons) was excellent. It’s a real family business . His wife picked us up from our hotel and took us to the van pick up point and then they took us to the balloon take off field. There were 10 balloons going up and it was a real spectacle . The weather was just right . This was attempt number 2 . Great flight out towards Trakai Castle on an evening sunset trip. Very smooth landing and a champagne finish. Excellent !!!

Climbing into the basket was like climbing a ladder- not to difficult for most people. The balloon ride itself is a very relaxing and beautiful experience. The views are incredible.

This certainly was a very memorable experience - as you would probably expect! The pilot and the rest of the team are very experienced and professional, so I felt I was in good hands. The balloon ride itself was thrilling and the pilot sometimes rotated the basket so you could get a view in all directions. I also enjoyed the champagne with my fellow travellers afterwards. With three people in each compartment, I did feel a bit squeezed in, making it challenging to take photos and videos, but such are the economics! Although the temperature at maximum altitude (about 800m) was hardly any cooler than at ground level, I would recommend covering up because of the gazillions of mosquitoes in the fields, which is to be expected (the pilot kindly provided insect repellent). Overall, it was a very worthwhile experience and I would definitely encourage anyone to make it a part of their itinerary.

Beautiful balloon ride over the many lakes surrounding the castle near Trakia. Incredible scenery on a gorgeous day. Be prepared for a very rough landing!

We had a magical early morning balloon ride with Albertas. Albertas had contacted us via WhatsApp the day before to ensure that pick-up would go smoothly in the morning, which it did. We took off from the same field as another group going at the same time, which meant that we could get some lovely pictures of another balloon flying over the same area. The fog over the fields was particularly beautiful, and we had lovely clear views over the lakes around Trakai. I am actually terrified of heights (cable cars and ladders are bad for me), but once we were up in the air, the basket felt very stable, and it wasn't scary at all.

We did a team building event with Hot Air Lines, with a balloon ride for 15. The tour was over the countryside outside of Vilnius. The views were spectacular over the castle and lakes. Balloon crew made the trip fun, while emphasizing safety. Highly recommended!

I 100% recommend Smile Balloons for a flight at Vilnius or at Trakai. From the quick response to my enquiry, through regular contact until I was collected from my hotel, and finally to the drive home after the ride, everything was so well organised with the 'customer' at its heart. Very efficient people were involved with the physical effort of taking us and the balloon to our launch site and setting everything up. They also provided clear instructions for the flight, and our pilot happily talked to us during the flight about the 'ins and outs' of ballooning. The final cherry on the cake was a glass of fizz and presentation of our proof of flight certificate. The flight itself was wonderful start and end in fields that earlier in the year had crops in them and we had great views of Trakai as we flew over it and then over forests of trees. Quiet, peaceful and smooth (apart from when the burners were on!). We were collected around 6pm and were back in Vilnius by 9pm.

Fantastic! This was our family’s first hot air balloon ride, so we were a little nervous. The driver came to our place in Vilnius very early in the morning and drove us out to the country near Trakai. We stopped so he could check the wind, and then met ho with the balloon ground crew at a nearby field. We watched them unpack the balloon, inflate it with fans, and then use the burner to heat up the air and get ready for flight.Our pilot had more than 25 years experience and clearly enjoyed flying the balloon.The views were amazing - we flew directly over Trakai castle.I highly recommend this trip and this company.Very professional, safe, amazing scenery.
