Top France Opera

During a trip to Paris we went to see La Traviata de l’Opera a Palazzo at the Jacquemart André Museum of Arts.In the courtyard, in front of the museum, no camellias but a magnificent mass of white irises all in bloom!Great evening! It was our first experience with this concept. A trio of musicians (violin, cello, piano), three singers (Violetta, Alfredo, M. Germont: soprano, tenor and baritone) and only 80 spectators in the museum's lavish lounges. Artists move only 1 or 2 meters from us, without microphone: the immersion is total.As difficult as it seems to adapt the first act of the Traviata to this small orchestra, the last two acts are perfect and give off a lot of emotion. Special mention for the baritone! The setting is sublime: being able to visit the treasures of 18th century painting with a flute of champagne, or being physically witnesses to the scene between Alfredo and Violetta among the guests during the second intermission, is something unique.Of course, there are no choirs or large orchestras or conceptual staging, but proximity compensates for everything. Seeing Violetta die under master paintings is no more anachronistic than some modern stagings of the Opera! The price (similar to a pop star concert) is justified by this intimacy.Congratulations to the two organizers of Opera a Palazzo, with whom we had the pleasure of talking, for their communicative passion.

I loved this experience in such a beautiful setting; the proximity of the singers is great. The only downside is obviously the lack of orchestra: necessarily, a trio cannot replace the orchestra! I'll probably be back for the next show.

While pricey, this was a lovely evening and a unique experience. I think it might even be good for first time opera goers as the stripped down performance with just a few characters and several breaks feels a bit more relaxed than going to a theater for a grand production. I saw La Traviata, which is one of my favorites, and the setting in the museum rooms was perfect.

I have known the Jacquemart-André Museum for a long time and it is truly a unique place in Paris. This new Nelly's bow string is a really nice surprise. Really a nice balance between the musical quality of the performance and the intimacy of the experience. I was a little afraid of the level of vocal performance with in my ear the recordings or performances of the Traviata on international stages including the opera Bastille. The voices are really of a very high level and the low volume of space really gives a very unusual listening proximity. The "staging" with an alternation between sequences sitting in different places and standing sequences where the singers mix with the audience is really very pleasant. A qualitative mention also for musicians (pianist, violinist and cellist) for the quality of their speech and their exchange with singers. Really a nice surprise!

The beauty of the place, the exceptional performance of the singers and musicians and the immersion of the spectators at the heart of the plot make this experience unique and very privileged

It is very different from the usual Opera with much more privacy, emotion. Have is literally in the scenery, action and especially music. Huge pleasure to be 1 meter from the very good singers who live their roles to the fullest and to vibrate with them. The feeling of being invited to the Baroness's sumptuous evening in are mansion is quite charming even if the absolutely crucial subject is the sharing of music and singing in a very small committee of enthusiasts. We also enjoyed the champagne flute at intermission.

Very good organization, excellent performance of actors, Makes you feel like you are invited for a private performance.

Place and atmosphere are particularly suitable for this service. The interpreters are perfect. We liked the way the show went. Maybe a lack of light for the last act. We will recommend this type of show to our entourage.

The "opera" performance was perfect excellent singers. Congratulations, everyone. On the other hand I was disappointed by the "reception-comfort of spectators" service: This change of lounge (involving moving more than 50 chairs) is certainly not easy but was it useful? we had to stand (and lose our good seats) too long and for us it was a big inconvenience especially that we were not warned.

Very nice evening! We had a wonderful time! The organization was perfect, and we enjoyed every moment with immense pleasure.

Very nice and original setting and format of representation. Good singers/performers. Quality of seats changing and a bit erratic. Considering the level of the quote.. a biit more champagne or drinks would have been adapted

We had not come to visit the museum, but for the opera which was well performed and Sung , congratulations to the singers and musicians. We will not repeat the experiment. Yes, I do. Simone and Alain ROQUES.

Booked this Opera, one, as a result of the main opera not having any scheduled performances on the date I would be visiting. Second, the venue and immersive experience of the Palazzo opera seemed to be more intimate and involving. Extremely happy the main opera didn't have any scheduled performances, thus looking at the Palazzo as my 'only' option. And thankfully we were not disappointed in the quality, the setting and overall experience of this opera! Memorable doesn't fully express the feeling we were left with after this night's event! It was so magical, I used the opera and venue as the location of which I would propose!

Unique and special evening of music, art and Champagne. Loved the small crowd and intimate setting. Nice that they had an English tour guide.

Everything was magical, artists, musicians, the setting is beautiful! We also enjoyed the private tour of the apartments without forgetting the champagne with the artists.
