I had always wanted to see Provincetown and this high-speed ferry from Boston was just the ticket. Travel time is about 90 minutes each way. Cost was about $90 per person. I thought that was awesome for 3 hours at sea with the price of fuel these days. I just wanted to spend the day, and this was a delightful way to accomplish that. There was a guide on board that could answer my questions on what to do here. The boat was clean and had restrooms and a snack and beverage bar. Boarding was easy. I had an electronic ticket. It does get busy so you might want to book ahead rather than just walking up and purchasing at the dock, I walked from my hotel, and it was really convenient to get to the ferry. Enjoy!

Easy access onto the boat but overall dock signage could be better. Guide was knowledgeable as well.

This is a must do on a trip to Boston. Make sure you give yourself enough time because you could probably spend hours in Salem. We went there on the 1145 and back on the four and I suggest staying longer. Snacks and booze to purchase on the ferry was fantastic also!

We had travelled from Scotland to stay in Boston and this was one of the highlights of our 8 day stay! Donal was a friendly, knowledgeable character who clearly hasn’t lost his Irish charm after living in Boston for 40 years! He gave us recommendations of where to eat and what to do for our stay in P’town which was only for a few short hours! He was also really interested in our feedback too on our return to Boston so he can improve the service for future travellers. We saw the sunset over Boston city skyline when we came back. Goof for ages 6 and above. Four year old found the strong winds overwhelming. Excellent service and fortunately great weather. Could see this being difficult for young families with inclement weather. Good way to explore Boston for a day trip from Salem.

Absolutely lovely crowd from the ticket seller in Salem who was charming AF, to the ticket taker, the bar tender and the staff. Great experience.

Took the ferry back to Boston from Salem after a long day of walking tours! It was the perfect way to end the day. It was a little cloudy and windy but option to sit in or out was perfect. One of the captains on board came around to visit and answer any questions we had which was nice. Would definitely recommend!

Fun way to see the harbor and get to Salem. Finding where to board wasn't super clear but there is a building nearby with signage, where you can go inside to ask. Arrive earlier than the suggested time if you are picky about where you sit, but there are various options available. Bar with snacks and drinks available for purchase, but we didn't partake. Can bring water bottles on, but not open drinks from nearby establishments, so finish those before boarding.

The Salem Ferry was very punctual, and the ride was incredibly smooth and enjoyable. The beautiful scenery along the way made the trip even better! I would definitely recommend the Salem Ferry to anyone looking for a convenient and relaxing way to get to Salem while taking in some gorgeous views. A great experience!
